Hello, this may have been brought up already, but I will go ahead an mention it.

Certain snow tiles(the dark shaded snow piles) are blocking movement on the map. Some of these tiles are in open areas where they are easy to move around, but some of these are next to trees, rocks and especially houses. The tiles seems to be 4 squares and you cannot pass over any of them.

In pvp, sometimes you are running and get "stuck" between one of these snow tiles, a house and a rock, and you can get trapped in if you are being chased or if someone is simply standing in your way.

I first saw this and said "Well they added a snow expansion and if these tiles are blocking, it must be part of the game." So I accepted that but just in case I paged a GM to ask. The GM eventually showed up and asked me to show him which tiles where blocking movement. I showed him, he walked over them, took a couple mintues, then told me that he saw no reason why these tiles were blocking me as he could easy walk through them(GM's can walk anywhere they want). He told me to reinstall UO and send a bug report.

I did what he said. No change.

I then started noticing other people getting blocked by these tiles, trapped and ganked by others. So it was apparent to me that these tiles are blocking everyone.

Then I found out that some people walk through the tiles with no problem. After further investigation I was able to find that if you did NOT download the "snow patch"(by simply clicking cancel, or opening old client directly) the map appears green like it used to, and these "blocking snow tiles" are in fact not in use.

So my concern is that pvp'ers who downloaded the snow patch are at a PvP disadvantage to those who didnt.

Now the whole reason I made this post is because OSI/EA has had firm rules regarding "blocking" with items. So would it not be a problem if certain players can pass through tiles that others cant? Lately I have seen people setting traps with these tiles and completely blocking people in and killing them. To me it seems like a fix is necessary somewhere. Please allow all players to pass through these awful "snow tiles."

Ya, I dont like them as well... As you said, some are in btw two houses, and you run btw them and become blocked in... X-mas is over, please revert back so there is no more winter in UO. (or at least remove these mounds).

It's a known issue with the snow, and it's 2d-only. I don't have an ETA on a fix - it doesn't block house placement or anything, it's just minorly-to-massively annoying, depending on whether or not you die because of it.

What a strange world we live in where winter is characterized by one holiday. Not sure where you live, but around here, winter lasts until well into March, and the Vernal Equinox.

I like the snow. I think it'd be a shame for them to turn it off just because Christmas is over with.

The correct action is to fix the issue, because hopefully we'll see winter again next year winter too.

You do know that half of the world celebrates Christmas in the summer don't you? I may look outside and see snow on the ground but my guildmate just got a sunburn at the beach. The snow is temporary, I'd rather see dev time spent fixing broken things that aren't.

Did you not read the OP or entire thread lol?

It is not about a holiday or precipitation. It is about the fact that the snow/landscape change caused massive roadblocks all over the map that contribute to people dying that otherwise may not have in Felucca(and possibly elsehwere to monsters?)
Whether or not you pvp or play in Felucca is not the issue. The issue is that this landscape change caused unintended issues that should be corrected asap.
Why spend valuable time & resources working on a fix for this when you can just revert the landscape & go back to the larger issues that cannot be so easily fixed?

It is not a lack of holiday or seasonal spirit issue. It is a roadblock issue. But unfortunately too many carebears cannot grasp this so they just resort to throwing out terms like "grinch" & "vernal equinox"

I think Bo already commmented on how naff the snowy fel looks, with its dirty snow. Personally I think the yellow snow was made by Maddux, he just doesn't care where he does it. In the middle of Britain, REALLY!!!
