Game Events, how are they handled ?

I am curious as to how game Events informations and storyline progression is generally handled from start to end of any given Event. Does anyone by any chance know it ?

i think each shard has an event mod who works from home.

EA develops the story pretty much then leaves it up to the event mod to execute the events. so they vary slightly on each shard.

actually i think the same event mod works more than 1 shard. so there's not one per shard.

at least this is how it used to be.

Let's take for example the event still ongoing, the blackrock one.

It started before Christmas is that right ?

How does it really work like ?

Was it already known before Christmas that around April players would have been able to turn in Blackrock for a reward ? I mean, is there a plan written from start to finish and so known in full before the event even starts which is then executed a little at a time or are parts designed and developed while the Even is ongoing ? That is, when the event starts it is not yet known simply because it is undecided what will happen in the coming months and this is decided and implemented a little at a time as things progress ?

How does it really work ?

It's some of both, honestly. We have had a grand plan leading all the way up to KR and we've been following it. However, sometimes stuff will happen - like we'll catch a bug and have to push a publish out - and we'll come up with fun, small stuff to fill in the gaps - like the Moonglow Dark Wisp event, for example. Events like that are generally designed to flesh out the story we already have planned out. And we are flexible enough to reshape our planned events when we have to cope with major schedule changes, too - we have to be. The Time Lord laughs when devs makes plans, after all.

I would imagine there may be some parts of an event which are sort of classified which is, the less people need to know it the better.

Or is it like everybody knows everything about what will happen in any given event from start to end ?

If so, how is it avoided that any information which is not supposed to get to players before time leaves the building ?

Is there like any serious check and informations control of what can leave the building and what can't ?

Just as a mere example to understand how things work with Events, assuming that it was a known information right before the event started before Christmas that eventually down the road blackrock would have been able to be turned in for rewards, how would such a sensitive information be handled to make sure it did not reach any player before it was its due time to be disclosed to players ?

Popps, are you asking if we restrict the information we tell players about upcoming events? If so... yes, of course. All forthcoming gameplay changes are confidential until we decide they aren't.
