EXPLOIT ALERT - Please Read!

This is a rumor that's been circling around and it sounds confirmed from a few people, so it's better to be safe then sorry. I recieved this ICQ from a trusted friend today...

Supposed exploit alert:
Supposedly people are able to drop black bags full of junk into other peoples' backpacks through their paperdolls, giving them too many items and causing things already in their packs to drop to the ground. It also supposedly works in any facet. I'm not sure how much weight I put in this, but am forwarding the warning just to be safe. Watch yourselves while banksitting

And then this:
ICQ Message (05:22 PM) :
yep tried it in SoN and it works
ICQ Message (05:23 PM) :
also on a corpse pass this on.......items are dropped on your corpse after your death, double click it and half your items stay on your corpse
ICQ Message (05:26 PM) :
thats the gm of SoN
Take precautions until this exploit is confirmed/denied or fixed by the developers everyone!

how the hell do people learn about this stuff... I mean who goes around trying to drop different colored bags in someone else's backpack?

I believe the color of the bag is more to make the victim not notice it then to actually allow the exploit.

are blessed items subject to this exploit? This sounds a lot like the one a few years back, but you had to accept the trade back then.

I'm not actually sure of the details...I haven't heard anything specific about blessed items.

But be careful with them just in case :/

Re: EXPLOIT ALERT - Please Read!

What is actually occuring, is that people are being able to drop any random thing into your backpack via your bag on your paperdoll. This does NOT cause things that are already in your pack to fall to the ground.

What is happening is people are attempting to make a trade with someone, they first dump stuff into your bag to make you overweight, then the trade window is opened as normal, when the trade fails (ie trade window is closed by them), any items put into the window seem to be falling on the floor instead of reverting to the bank box like they are supposed to.

Atm its best to avoid any trading using the trade windows until this bug is fixed. use vendors.

Re: EXPLOIT ALERT - Please Read!

its an extreme amount of weight i heard, like 500+ stones have to be in your backpack, it also happens if anything drops off your paperdoll into your backpack like armour/weapons.. im just not gonna go out with my red till they get it sorted though the dropping into someone else paperdoll is uberly-funny...

oh and how is old damage?

*giggle*

Re: EXPLOIT ALERT - Please Read!

I thought I read that it had to do with the number of items vs. the weight. Somebody puts a bag with enough stuff in it to put you over 125 items and anything new dropped in your pack falls to the ground. Its also being done on corpses so that when one clicks on their corpse to dress, half the stuff falls out. Haven't seen it used in PvP yet, but it could slow somebody down during combat as well draining their stamina if they're not paying attention.

Re: EXPLOIT ALERT - Please Read!

Could work either way I suppose...I also heard that it had to do with items not weight. Because even on a normal day if you overload your backpack, and try to pick up more it'll drop to the ground.

I don't personally know anyone who has been effected by it though, so I'm just going by what I've heard. Hopefully they get a fix out for this soon.
