the line? the line IMO has nothing to do with UI. It has to do with gameplay. If it makes my life easier, then it cant be a bad thing can it?

Now if UO totally flipped, used the same graphics engine as WoW, used the same exact gameplay as WoW, then you can have an effective arguement that UO is like WoW.

Lets not forget the tons of other games that adopted these features as well? They must all be the same game...

Again you failed to understand the point. To play ultima, you dont have to quest grind to gain access to further parts of the game. Like I said earlier, anywhere any time. Thats what makes it one of the best MMOs IMO.

And yes I will point out uo has quest grinding to an extint. But heres the catch..It is OPTIONAL, not requried.

Ok, lets say it is an excuse to copy UI. Well to me, its a damn good excuse. No more compound macros for chain casting or using random macros. Now I can use single key macros and use enter conveniently to talk.

Ok I'm not trying to sound like a WoW hater because I know the game has its ups and downs as does UO and every other MMO. There is no single perfect game, but the way I see things (hint my opinion) is that there is no solid proof that completely sticks out the roof that UO is just like WoW. Two completely different gaming styles, engines and users even.

That doesnt mean they dont share similarities. Of course many games will share similarities that may make the UI alike, but please dont bash and trash the game saying its the same.

If you want to get right down to it. The are both the same. It takes players to play and a company to make/keep it interesting. My suggestion is to play the one you enjoy the most .

What im more intressted in is if one can costumize the UI like in DAoC? Create the own graphic for all "boxes" i.e. Char doll, backpack, the shortcut bar and all the other things.

Otherwise the one from beginning is just plain ugly - even tho i like the "modern style of MMO style" --- (Notice: i didnt say WoW)

I dont believe that this will be an option yet you never know. They may have style choices to choose from, but not a fully customizable option because of how it would affect a lot of the things in game.

Think if your backpack art had to be dl'd to the server everytime someone snooped your pack etc. how much server strain would that create?

I believe its just best that they give us 3-5 standard templates to choose from and let us go with that.

could have a standard graphic for when snooping... the UI should just be for the player himself.

I don't think someone else's options for backpack layout will have any effect on your own (even if snooping in theirs).

I hope the backpacks wont be like Guild Wars or Bauldars Gate where you need to find a bag to put in your bag to carry more items.
