The side by side comparision is startling! However the same can be said that WoW is becoming more like UO...
Just recently WoW has implemented an "Armory" addition to their web page, much like UO has always had on theirs. The Armory is like the Charecter Search on UO.Com. A user can type in a character's name in order to obtain their information, such as skills and stats.
The two know they're competing against each other, and are making changes in order to remain competitive. It's all business politics and smart move.
I hate having to hit the enter key when talking in WoW, but there are 3rd party programs out there that help out with that. Much like UO assist.

I don't think I understand what you mean about talking. Could someone please explain further. Only game I play is UO so I'm not familar with what you are all talking about. Fill me in pls

Right now in uo you just type the message to chat then hit enter to say it. Now you have to bring up the chat window by hitting enter first, then type message and then hit enter again to say the message.

Long story short.....just have to hit one more buttom to chat.

Pressing enter to open a chat bar is not even difficult, and becomes second nature after awhile.

I'm just used to it from Diablo. Also, I hate having to hit enter to get rid of all the 111313331111asqqqqea``12a`12`a or backspace it all out of the way when I have any macro set that doesn't include ctrl or alt.

I'm a whimp... that is if we are talking about real life now if someone I love is being hurt I will attack... won't win because of how skinny and weak I am but I would try my best to do damage atleast... but all and all I am a whimp if something happens that I feel threatened I trot off quickly into what I think is the safest spot at the time... think Shaggy and Scooby Doo =P

Carp I am just like that but in WoW! I get scared easily by big mean monsters lol. I recall someone from one of the Monty Python movies, "Run away! Run away! Run away!"

The Armory doesn't have any impact on gameplay, though. The UI has a huge impact. And I find it hard to believe that the devs at Blizzard were thinking, "Hmm, I wonder how we can become more like UO?" whereas I can fully believe that Darkscribe and co. go home every night and run Karazhan.

UOAssist costs $15. Most mods for the WoW UI cost $0. I will never pay for a UI enhancement, or be suckered in to UOAssist's monopoly.

No, the Armory does not impact gameplay at all. I am merely stating that Blizzard may have decided they needed a change of some sort, an additional user feature to their web site. I am not saying they went straight to Origin's web site for the answer, but someone thought that UO's Character Search is nice, and people seem to like it, so why not put one like that on our web site.

I agree, I never used UOAssist, and do not plan on it either. I have always played without it and did not have any problems.
