Seems pretty clear to me, the days of UO are pretty well numbered. No significant new upgrades either, since all capital and talent will probably be directed towards Warhammer. Only reason to keep throwing money at EA now would be expecting that UO customers would be enticed to upgrade with some kind of veteran-based incentive program, ie first choice of house placement or the like. Well that goes for DAOC too ya know. Plus, ~60k UO customers out of a pool of millions they aren't going to give a crap about the ~60k.

It's been a fun 7 years, see ya

Na, we'll bury at leasy 3 or 4 more MMo's before we're done.

UO won't go away. Others will come over once their MMO dries up. I think with Mythic coming over, there are some changes planned. But, only time will tell. I still don't think UO is going away anytime soon. Hell, I don't know what I would do if it did..

Yeah, I am ate up something fierce.

"Seems" and "probably" being the operative words here... all the claims being based on pretty much no fact at all. U.Hall at its finest.

Like Grimm said, we will bury a few more before its done. Once people get bored with the meaningless fluff of most of the games have and realize the content and depth UO has, they always come back!!

I could not agree more,heck with the free shards that are popping up here and there its obvious UO IS still a very desirable game to play.

They will need a GM to physically remove me from UO

Can't exactly remember when, but heard an interview with Designer dragon I think, in the interview he basically said the life expectancy they was hoping for out of UO was going to be 10 years, but the way things are going I really think the game is going to last a lot longer than 10 years.

Oh yeah this interview was done just before UO Ren was released.

UO's life so far is not that long when compared to other games. Alot of board games are still around, and I expect UO will surpass them. Someday it will beat out "Chutes and Ladders"

I'm always amused by the doom sayers. They exist in every phase and facet of life. It's always the end of the world for someone, somewhere. UO does have staying power and even people who quit, often come back. Just nod nicely and continue your play... someone else will post that same thread in another month or year..

Funny, so EA buying another games studio means they'll discontinue UO?

I had something of a rant coming on for this but the more I thought about it the less I felt inclined to waste my time with this kind of idiocy...
