| Dragons Buffed on Test Quote: |
In literature dragons have always been portrayed stronger and smarter than those in UO.. most lore show dragons as being a race that is older than the other races located in the fantasy world involved also...
|
The fact that the dragons of UO, save for the few like Sudiva, seem unintelligent and less developed than fantasy legend, or even compared to the Ultima series itself, is I think lamentable.
Wilki has left us part of his legacy in reaffirming that Dragons are one of the ancient and great races. Thus you see new, more powerful dragons, and even greater ancient wyrms in this publish.
Dragons are important to UO - the Hildebrandt painting makes that pretty obvious! Hopefully there'll be time down the road to make it even more apparent. Tim "Draconi" Cotten

~~~~ Frarc asked a good question Could it be we can already have one of these greater Dragons tamed in our stable or will we have to go find us a new one? They're spawning as new dragons, still called "a dragon" though. Tim "Draconi" Cotten
I always thought they should have never been made tameable.
A Drake, yes, but a Dragon, come on.
| Re: Dragons Buffed on Test
Dragons being the cunning, devious creatures they are, should let a Tamer think they have succeeded in taming them. Submit to the Tamer for a time... then, boom, out of nowhere, and at the worst possible moment (Doom, anyone?) turn on their "owner". Tamable dragons? Pshaw!
But I do like the fact dragons are buffed a bit now... they were a smidgeon (a lot) too easy to kill.
Geez what about The Dragon Rider? The dragon was born to a spacific rider and was loyal til death. I do think that once you earn the trust of a dragon that you should not be allowed to harm another dragon or you will loose loyalty in your dragon. Much like the friends of the Ants
nah but a archer/sam and mage/tamer were killing them pretty quickly.
the mage/tamer wasn't dealing any damage and focusing mainly on taming.
archer was running a dragon slayer heavy xbow and chiv healing the mage.
also the buffed "a dragon" leave a corpse tagged "a greater corpse" (not a typo)
these buffed dragons have very strange movement patterns. yes they Bee-line toward hostiles, but sometimes they walk around really fast like they are looking for something and cannot find it. might be the weird geography of destard, cannot tell.
Anyone with post-tame stats?
Seems like these are not going to be as powerful for PvM as cu sidhes...unless someone can confirm the special attack on a tame?
Gah - need comparison data!
| Re: Dragons Buffed on Test
Why are they making this game even harder? I have trouble soloing enough as it is being that everything with Magery spams Explosion and Flamestrike on me (this certainly didn't happen last time I played, 3 years ago. Explosion from a Shade?!) now Dragons are being buffed? Not that I regularly dared to hunt them because I thought their fire breath was powerful enough being that it takes half my HP, at least, at full health.
