COMMENT Since they have the list of Publish 43 changes in the "fully moderated" Developer's Corner, I'll put it here where people actually might see it and where people might have their response censored. Of course, three things jump out at me from a PvP perspective. 1. Sad, sad, sad amount of PvP issues dealt with -- again, and those which are dealt with are EXTRAORDINARILY low on the "problem" list. 2. Fixing damage on the pre-patched things (finally...sheesh) without fixing the specials on the same weapons? So the PP Taskmaster is actually WORSE than post patch? Sweet. 3. 4/6 chivalry on mages with over 70 magery will finally be "fixed" (been around since publish 25). On the list of the top 100 problems in the current state of PvP, I'd put it at...oh...101 or so. Where ARE all these "gimp" chiv mages? For the most part, THEY DON'T EXIST. One or two here and there. Buncha 4/6 dexxers though. Question, does 4/6 chivalry work differently for a mage and a dexxer? Question, can we all figure out why there aren't more 4/6 chiv mages? (I can...I'll be forced to become a "bok bok" mage as a result of this change...sweet....another "bok bok" mage in UO!) Here's the wonderment: Quote:

This was removed because it was causing problems for Heralds placed inside of houses and was not an essential feature Players will now only receive one Herald message total per minute, with exception of the owner who will always see the Herald's bark Fixed a bug that was causing Heralds to bark their announcement more than once after having their options changed multiple times while in a house Fixed an issue that could allow players to sell their Personal Attendant deeds on their vendors Personal Attendants are now removed if the character that they belong to is deleted Fixed the error message that was displayed when a player tries to place furniture in another person's house Increased the chances that an NPC mage vendor would sell 2nd-4th circle magery scrolls. Additionally, it sounds like there will also be an Evasion change added to pub 43 next week, so I'd say a lot of people should be satisfied by this publish. I'm actually finishing up a change right now. Here's what we'll have to start: - Evasion duration will scale with your Bushido skill. Range is 3-6 second duration, with a 2 second bonus if your bushido is above GM and both tactics and anatomy are GM or better. - Evasion parry modifier will scale with your Bushido skill. Range is 16-40%, with a 10% bonus if your bushido is above GM and both tactics and anatomy are GM or better. Thats the funniest thing...Players dont need to transfer 10x a day as it is usually a day or so later so that "fix" doesnt really accomplish anything! Waste of time there limiting it. That accomplishes a whole lot more than you might think. IMHO, under this new system, there will be very VERY VERY little and insignificant difference from the old, and the uberness of evasion will continue. 56% and 49% are still way too high evade rates for mages and not much lower than what they currently are right now at all. Oh, forgot to mention... parry once against scales with dex below 80, just as it did after Pub25. I was able to trade in the char transfer tokens but i still have my advanced char tokens left in my pack. Are these supposed to be able to trade-in or are you bringing back advanced chars to siege? Oops! I just added them to the NPC (but you'll have to wait for it to be published to the TC before you'll see the change).

Comment Evasion needs to be based on a requirement of 100 weapon skill, and 100 dexterity. Warriors can't hit 100% of the time. Mages can hit warriors 100% of the time with spells, evasion evened out the playing field. Your current plan just make it look like Mages Online all over again. Remove the 100% hit of offensive spells of mages against targets. 120 Magery = 75% chance of hitting a target 115 Magery = 70% 110 Magery = 65% 105 Magery = 60% 100 Magery = 50% ######################### You're asking for a crapload more than to just reconsider the pub 43 fix on evasion, buddy. ######################### They arent gonna be happy until its totally "Mages Online". Face it and make a mage. I'd post them now, but I'd rather not make a mistake trying to recall the exact numbers off of the top of my head. In response to another comment: The bonus is not large, it's 10% to the evasion modifier, which if you have 120 parry and bushido with a 2 handed weapon works out to be 4% added to your final evasion chance. Over the course of 50 hits that you absorb, that's an average of 2 extra successful evades. I've also reduced the duration bonus to 1 second, so now evasion maxes out at the same duration as before: 6 seconds. I wouldn't call that a "big" bonus, rather just a little something extra for more traditional templates. The goal here was to not overly nerf dexxer templates while still making it hard to be really good at both parry and bushido (thus evasion), and still having lots of offensive spell casting ability. However, evasion in general needed to be taken down a notch or two for everyone. Hopefully those numbers are close, but we shall see based on what happens on the TC. And in case anyone is wondering, yes, expect knowing how to manage your mana supply to become yet even more important in the future.

Hanging Skeletons - GM Adida Told me to post... Redeedng Issue source taken from UO.UHall COMMENT Gm Adida told me to post here so DEVs would see it. There is an issue where if you place it and after server down you are unable to redeed it. You gotta bother a GM to come get it for you. Anyhow, my issue was I placed a Hanging Skeleton, 2 days ago, went to re-deed it today and it wouldn't let me. could we get a fix on that? ######################### GMs go through players to communicate with devs? *scratches head* (thanks for the fyi) ######################### CatHat UO Character/Environments Artist make sure you also repost this and other things you find in the Bug Reporting Forum found farther down on the Ultima Online - General Discussions Where a lotta QA and guys like Ando cruise a lot, so it will hit offical channels. I don't see the gump for the stats. Do you think it's because my Siege char never claimed his AoS rewards and still has that gump?
Yes, if you still have the original AOS reward gump, then you won't see the new +5 stat cap gump. ############################### I geuss the + 5 stats for over 6 months don't count for those who already have it That is correct, this does not stack with the AOS +5 stat bonus. QA has now entered this bug ############################### The curtains are dyeable in sections, i.e. You can dye one panel one color, a swag a different color, the other swag (if it were actually there) a different color and the other panel a completely different color. Is that intentional? Yes, this is intentional. The only strange thing you may see with this is if you choose different colors and then re-deed it, the deed will only remember one of the colors. ############################### Oh while your around...Can you guys make the coffin a container? It's really cool but kinda worthless at the same time. I don't think we have the gump art for that. Also if we did make the change, the trade-off would be that it would act like the elven containers from ML and not allow you to customize your house unless you first emptied and re-deeded it. ###############################

Now, the big problem with evasion is players being able to use it over and over again, thus keeping the evasion going 24/7. Granted the restrictions are pretty sound, but a timer between using evasion is still needed.

Instead, we'll address these issues by making mana management important in combat again. The leech changes were just the start. If you run out of mana, it's kind of hard to chain activate specials :-) What about the honor/area peace bug? THAT is a big one as far as I am concerned. I just fixed it tonight. It'll be on TC tomorrow, so please go and try to get around it! ###################### Bah, it seems like theyre not going to try to come up with a better solution for evasion :/ At the very least it would be nice if they made it require only tactics but not anat, even the "pure" melee samurai arent able to fit it onto their template without sacrificing either magic resist, med/focus, or some form of healing. The only way it would be possible to make a working template that gets the full benefits of evasion would be to replace other skills by using expensive items such as MR suits, HPR and enhance pot suits, and +65 necro suits, which would create yet another major imbalance between the "haves" and the "have nots". ###################### Thats an awful amount of skill points that must be used just to use one ability effectively. ###################### I'd like to remove this perception that you have to have tactics and anatomy for evasion to be "effective". The bonus is 10%, and 1 second to the duration. If you have 120 parry and 120 bushido, and are holding a 2 handed weapon, you have a 40% chance to parry. That 10% bonus is calculated like this: 0.40 * 0.10 = 0.04 That's 4% at the very top end. With a 1-handed weapon, it's 3%. That means 1 extra evade out of 25 hits, or 1 extra evade out of 33 hits. In my opinion, that small bonus isn't the difference between being effective or not effective. ###################### At the very least it would be nice if they made it require only tactics but not anat, even the "pure" melee samurai arent able to fit it onto their template without sacrificing either magic resist, med/focus, or some form of healing. ###################### Bingo. It gives the templates that aim for more offense just a little bit more survivability.

Crystal and Shadow housing tiles (Type: "9ac" to temporarily entitle account)
Since I'm not sure how apparent it is, I will add that included with the new housing tiles are two foundations for houses that are only available to upgraded accounts. ################ Went to Test Center this morning to try out the talismans of the Fey, to see how easy it is to get one that has the "owned by no one" property We are looking into this now. ################ Oh and I noticed on TC that the cauldron is no longer a container. The cauldron was not originally intended to be a container and has not been that way on Test Center. I believe the only time it may have been was in the demo house on Origin. However keep in mind that that house was setup before Pub43 as a preview of the types of items that would be offered in 9th Anniversary (in other words, these were not the actual items being developed). With that said, if there was a large enough demand to make this item a container, we would consider making the change. ################ Crystal Altar: cannot destroy it if you target the opposite side of it (you are on north side, and pick south, for instance.) It says that is inaccessible. Other items seem to destroy properly. The Globe of Sosaria didn't want to destroy itself, though after I removed a few other things it eventually decided to let me. I tried to reproduce it but it stubbornly wants to be destroyed now. Ok, these have been entered into the bug DB and sent to a developer. ################ The shadow banner lies behind the curtains and other items (like the fireplace), not that I'm upset, but it may appear to disappear when you place it if you mis-click on something. I'm not seeing this. Do you want to post a screenshot? At this point the issue may not be something we can fix. ################ Today's update to Test Center included the following changes: * Fixed an exploit that allowed players to bypass the skill re-use timer * Double-digit numbers for base damage will no longer get cut off in the Animal Lore gump ################

Right now my warrior arjuna who averages 7 to 22 damage a hit (he's not a paladin or samurai) leeches about 3 points at best from weapons when a leech goes off.
Mr.Tact Here's the skinny. Right now, a mana leech's potential gain is 40% of the post-resist damage. The chance attached to the property is the chance of it going off each swing. The new way it works is, the property goes off every time you swing. Also, the chance has been scaled based on the speed of the weapon. The fastest weapons should be about the same, but slower weapons will actually show up with a higher % than previously possible. The flip side of that is, the % now represents the maximum amount of health/mana that you get from the swing. The actual number is generated randomly, from 0 up to your leech %. Here's a concrete example to clarify. Let's say you currently have a katana with 50% mana leech. That's an item property intensity of 25 (since % chance is 2xintensity). Let's say you do an average of 15 points of damage. The base mana yield is going to be 40% of that, or 6 points. Currently, every other swing (subject to the vagaries of the random number generator) you will get 6 mana, period. Under the new method, your % chance may change a bit. Katana has a base swing speed of 2.5 seconds. To get the new % chance, multiply the speed in seconds by the intensity: 25 x 2.5 = 62% (dropping fractions). So every swing will generate 0-62% of your base mana yield (that's 6 mana, remember).

I axed a tree and it disappeared.
I believe that will be part of the fix coming in the next client patch I just placed a curtain in a house I'm co-owned to on the LS backup shard. It was in the wrong place so I tried to re-deed it and got : Only players with the same account who placed this item or the house owner can destroy it. I'm not only the same account, I'm the same player, who is a co-owner. Looks like a flag is missing. Strange, I don't think it was doing that originally. I'll let the developers know and unless it was intentional for some reason, I think we can get a fix for it in the next update.
