CatHat: ROFL - well, we are developers - but no, we don't monkey in Code much, if at all. Max Scritps, Python Scripts and C++ toolsets are about the limit of my extent in that area. When i am forced to deal with code - i poke at it with the distain of a 6 year old prodding a plate ful of brussel sprouts with a fork.

One important thing to note is EVERYONE from all aspects of the team has a say in discussons about changes and big issues. Though final say and schedules come from bigger cheeses than I. Usually find me up front in those meetings since i'm one of the fairly active playing Dev folk. Also as most know - i take a lot from stratics to wave about in meetings as well.. "kill insurance - better crafting - fix the virtues - fix these damn wearables that were busted back in the 90s" Sound familar - lol

Player: If the marketing department is forcing them to sell outside stuff for RL money, I'd much rather it be nice-looking 'hello-kitty' stuff than powerful needed items.

CatHat: yeah - i agree - UBER items are tricky if their just widely distributed like these 'gifts' are- they wind up wreaking havok in ways designers and folks usually never forsaw. Then half the UO population gets mad about the imblanace - then the other half get even more mad if/when its nerfed back into something reasonable.

As for the Marketing guys selling this stuff - i can't hold it agaisnt them. People can buy it if they want to, or they can try to get it in game from someone who had bought it - and the money all goes back into UO basically. Its not like we're sitting in a room diveying it all out going "WHOOT! Hey lets all go get drinks at the Pub down the block now!" or anything. LOL.

As for it being 'hello kitty" lol -well it was for the japan market after all - so my little self indulgent cat statue there needed to be just a little friendly looking. Quite a change from my usual stuff thats usually all tooth and claw

Alas... they are 700k at Luna LS..... and that's pretty much where I am... I will beg my son in law for some spending gold from his vendors I guess... if I play my cards right he will give me a million for my mothers day present. Can't ask this week though... hubby and son in law work together and got rained out for most of the week... short paychecks. , so not a good time to ask for money.. even UO money

I paid 600K each for mine on Catskills but I have no patience.
I also baught more than my fair share because I was feeling pouty and wanted them right then and not when my ole man felt like getting me the Credit card....
I still might buy more to sell or sumpin....

I've been playing from day one any change to the art at this point is a big deal to me I realy liked the new dragon armour art I just wish it was more usefull. actualy I've liked all the new art. hmm think I'll go spend the next hour looking for tokens on GL!
