I thought it was only me, but it seems if you make an in game hot key macro to use the skill "Steal" it will auto target last item instead of bringing up a cursor. Could you look and verify this? Thanks

Ando
Hmm, it's giving me a targeting cursor. You might want to go through your macros and make sure you don't have another one assigned to that same key or something strange like that.

Hello.
Here are the shops repair deed cannot be used regularly.
Carpentry Deed cannot use, but Fletching Deed can use.

Ando
Yes, apparently it was looking for Fletching when it should have been looking for Carpentry. This shouldn't be too difficult to fix.

Stackable items have been broken for nearly a year now. Even basic ones such as reagents, which were supposidly fixed, don't stack. Here is a bunch I just looted today:

Instead of fixing important issues such as this, they create personal attendents which are a novelty at best.

and

link, its what they've always been best at, adding new stuff and not fixing the old stuff

and
Welp content is the biggest seller as wierdly as it may sound so I'm not suprised. In the short run that is, it makes good money, but in the long run lots of bugs will hurt the game and making less money.

and
They did fix them...they gave us a 20% increase in storage!

Seriously this bug has been around too long. It affects virtually everyone ingame and NEEDS to be fixed now.

Ando

Stackable items have been broken for nearly a year now. Even basic ones such as reagents, which were supposidly fixed, don't stack.

This would definately be very high on my list of bugs I want to see fixed soon, so much in fact that I started looking into this issue a little bit myself not too long ago (as I stated a few weeks back in a Five on Friday question.) When I say this though, I need to remind everyone that there is no easy solution to solve all stacking problems. Instead, each one needs to be addressed on a case by case basis.

and
I'll accept what you say about the difficulty of fixing stackability, but I have to admit it's a real headscratcher to me trying to imagine why the items are represented in the database that makes this so challenging. I would think stackables by definition would not carry a lot of extra properties, but looking at the way the item id skill messes with items, I guess stackables are represented in a more complex way than simply an item id and a number-in-pile.

( good luck )

Carrying on the 'Stacking debate '

Where is my $4.99 Token to Fix Stackable Items?

On another note....personal attendants were fixed quickly!!

I know for dam sure that the day after the patch(s) came out that broke the stacking issue EA was told on these forums, in bug reports and I think even in the UOHOC chat Although the code was , as Ando likes to put it, fresh in thier minds at the time they chose not to fix it. So here the game is , a year later still with this issue. Why? I dunno, but personal attendants were fixed quickly!!

Ando
Perhaps you are forgetting that the stacking issues occured in Mondain's Legacy. After ML was released the Dev Team was very busy fixing quite a few issues that were new at that time (remember the bug sprint?). At around that time (though it might have been a different publish) a few of the stacking issues that the Dev team had information about were fixed, such as one involving wooden boards.

Compare that to Pub41 which was a fairly small publish where the main developed was Personal Attendants. Not to mention (and I've stated this before) Pub41 was released a little sooner than I would have liked due to deadline we had to make. This meant that fixes, most of which were already in the works and should have been included in the first place, had to be released with subsequent publishes.

and

could you eloborate perhaps as to why theres no easy solution? is there some conflict?

Ando
Honestly after QA had obtained some of the information about what was causing stacking problems, I was really hoping to see the issues getting fixed sooner. However it seems like other things always seem to come up that take a little more priority. I will elaborate slightly though by saying I feel one concern was that anytime stacking is changed there is the potential for something to break.

I'm thinking if there is some interest, I may be able to get approval to update Test Center a little earlier than originally scheduled so people can start looking at some fixes being worked on.

Well here's an idea that has been suggested MANY times before. Put a stop on anymore new content, halt it right there and target ALL resources onto squashing bugs, no new attendant type stuff, fancy colours or MORE useless boxed stuff that is forgotten about quicker than a crafter leaves the battlefield.

Imagine how nice it will be for UO to be bug free! The playerbase will love you for it and you guys can all congratulate each other on a job well done! You could even count up all the bugs there currently are (probally a four figure sum) and place a display in the corner of the game screen or avatar that sounds a trumpet fanfare and counts down as each bug is squashed.

There would be much merriment and it might just swell the playerbase and increase the revenue enough to compensate for the loss of a few thousand $29:99 box sales..................

What a refreshing and novel idea
