Jeremy is busy writing all kinds of stuff for the UO team and the FoF right now, so you're going to have to take this note from me, the UO n00b. Sorry.

Okay, gang, the date on this post is 11/2/06.

As you all know, there is a problem with account aging for some players, though mercifully not for everyone. What you don't all know is that CS and QA have been working together behind the scenes, identifying patterns in hopes of duplicating the problem and solving it. (As I post on the Camelot Herald every week, it seems, no programmer can fix a problem until it has been duplicated.)

Anyway, CS/QA/Wilki brought the problem to the attention of the programmers... engineers. Argh. It's going to take me a bit to learn to use the right terms, every game has their own. Anyway. The people on the code team only have two hands apiece. The timing was such that we didn't have enough information for them to start fixing until they were deep into the 9th Anniversary stuff, and then they couldn't just drop what they were doing.

Work on a fix is now starting. We cannot possibly give you an ETA that would be anything but a WAG until they've had a chance to play with it, and it may be we will need to come back to you for more information. I just don't know.

Put another way: The team as a whole knows there is a problem, CS/QA has been working on the problem, and engineers will fix the problem. If my memory serves, this problem crops up every few years, and the team always solves it. At least, I seem to recall it from the boards in 2001.

CS can't give you the rewards you've earned, BTW, because the fix will put everything you have coming onto your account. Please don't send any more appeals (unless we ask for them), as we're at a point where more samples don't help and just clog the system.

Finally, as a side note that most of you already know - don't look at the "member since 19xx" notation on your account page. That note doesn't take into account any time you might have taken off from the game over the years, and rather confuses the issue when you mention that figure to us.

Okay. That's the latest, most definitive word on the subject. Jeremy will give you more information when she has it - so if you don't hear, it's because she doesn't have it. She's following up at least twice a week on this issue. This will not be in the FoF, because there's not enough hard information right now.

I understood more what he said than most of the other ones who DO post and who been working as the UO Team... I think because he doesn't know the terms so when he actually has to flat out and say it... makes it easier for me to know what he "is" saying than guessing for the fact I do not know alot of terms and definitions, abberveations and such. So I like how he types!
