8th Age Comments from Wilki
Player: It's so unclear what is and isn't included in 8th anniversary even Wilkie is confused.
Wilki: I'm not confused.
The 8th Age box comes with the current UOML client, however you can only access content up to UOSE. So, if you want to play UOML, you just need to purchase the code, and not have to worry about patching up the client.
UOML was just launched last month, so we're not going to sell UOML along with all of the other things you get in the 8th Age box (the advanced character code is worth more than the 8th age box itself) for $10 less.
This is not intended to "scam" anyone. I can assure you that The Marketing Guy doesn't sit around in his office thinking of various methods to trick UO Players. That's not a very good way to keep you playing UO :-)
As an example, if you take a look at the Everquest: Platinum compilation, you'll see the wording is much the same on the front of that box. It says something like "Includes 7 expansions!" Player: Community reps with no idea how to defend the undefendable.
Wilki: I have plenty of ideas, thoughts and comments; however when it is clear to me that someone is only here to sling insults, I generally don't take the time to reply. I'd much rather spend that time having constructive conversations with players.
In this case, I'm explaining that there is no intention to "scam" anyone. Seeing the 2 or 3 threads on this issue has surprised us, as nobody here thought that the phrase "Contains 6 full expansions!" was at all misleading. That said, we'll take your feedback into consideration the next time we do something like this. For the 8th Age, however, it is too late to make a change to the box, so this is what we have for now.
