Is WoW hard to get into?

I've been playing UO off and on since launch, but slowly and surely all of my conformist friends are trying to lure me into WoW.

Hows the transition? Do you think its something I might enjoy or should I just stay loyal to UO?

I played for about a year a half when it first came out. The pvm in that game is crazy I love the 5 man raids we would do. But you are kinda restricted with each class and if your alliance and your buddies are horde you will have a difficult time palying with them in game unless you are at war. The 40 raids are just insane but can take a very long time if your group doesnt have a clue on what to do.

PVP was kinda lame since you lost nothing (except being a ghost and having to run to your body to rez) but you did get honor points and so many points you can get different gear and trinkets, maybe pvp has change since the last time I played which was around oct of 2005.

Things have changed Since 2005. Just got a patch yesterday, that gives more content. infact that one patch is litterally comparable to what UO considers an expansion.

I've never played but some of the screenies look interesting.

However, I am still fairly new to UO so my loyalty remains

Loyalty isn't one sided, if it is given it should be returned.

I found it extremely easy to transition to. The scenery is just amazing. The interface is really easy to learn and there are websites to help newer players with the questing, like thottbot, and wowhead

Bo is correct, but some of the ppl are a tremendous help in WoW.

very much so maddux. if you get yourself into a great group of folks, they can help you out alot. my best friend got me into his guild, then I got petra into it and that group has been an enormous help. Try to find a guild that isnt just endgame players tho. meaning everyone, or like 90% of them are all lvl 70, or near it, and dont come to the older lands too much anymore. my guild is built up of people from lvl 1 to 70, and there is always someone to help, or hunt, or quest with.

As more people from this forum start playing WoW, I am finding it difficult to split up my time between all these shards.

We need an official UOForums shard and guild on WoW, so everyone can be in one place!
