Ventrillo server??

My son and I are looking to get a ventrillo server. The Guild we are in had one but it seems to have gone away and our leader is out of state now. She is not sure why it is down and can't get online to check on it.

Her server was $10 a month for 50 people. (nrgservers, I believe). I was wondering if anyone has a recommendation for a good host for ventrillo servers?

I have seen some for 10 users/$5 a month, and I've seen some that say they are 'free'...but I doubt that really.

Any help or recommendations would be greatly appreciated. :grin:

Have you tried anyone recommended from Vents website? They are usually a good start.

All the other TS providers I went through were from package deals when the company hosted your game server too, so I dont know too much first hand...

Well i didn't ask my sis but i went to the website and talked to a techy friend. He said you can host your own Ventrillo thingy just like you can on automap. He said with a decent connection you can host like 10 people and not get lag in your game.

Tuka, send me a PM, how many folks normally use it with you. I have a 50 person server up and not used to capacity, also has the top types of of connection protocols.

depending on how many people you need in it, if its only 8 people then you can host a vent server off your own computer and most people should be able to acess this, i used to do it. If you download the server client from vents website and then just run it it should work fine, its only if you get more than 8 people (i believe) that it needs to be paied for.
