The US buys a lot of oil from Alberta, and between you and the other places we sell it, you made us too much money.

4 billion too much!

And they are taking 1.4 billion of that..and giving every "man, women and child" $400 tax free. Yep, that's right. Every single person, no matter what age or status, in this province gets 400 bucks. I'm awaiting Tef's and mine cheques right now. Should be here this week.

Even the homeless are recieving it...they are setting up systems in the shelters on how to have them distributed.

The rest of the billions the province is using is going into school and road budgets, as well as into energy costs, etc.

Just thought I'd share that with ya. One of the benefits of living in an oil rich province.

That has got to be the best thing I have heard in a long time I wish it would catch on to all the companys that make huge profit's each year

Yeah I just heard that news...you guys are lucky! Now why can't they do that in BC?

hehe BC is usually good with energy rebates because they are so hydro rich. But when I lived there it was never anything more then $100 off your bill and what not.

It's pretty nice...but you gotta think...4 billion is a pretty big profit too! lol The oil industry amazes me sometimes...it's such a disgusting field of work..but the money is wild

That is very cool though, of your government Americas idea of a break for us, was something like 5 or 6 years ago, they gave all of us checks for some sort of tax break. married received more than single. Anyone else remember this? I remember being pissed because my "tax break" was taxed, and I got like 200 less than the advertised alotted amount. It paid for all our beer for the weekend though. Me and 4 buddies spent it all on beer, Wild Turkey, and pizza. Dang we drank alot back then.. hehe..

Yeah, I remember that little rebate...it was a bit of a sham.

j/k That's cool, my city kinda had that go with the DMV registration, we overpaid 300 mil and it was distributed out to motorists that registered their cars and got back so much depending on amount they paid in the first place.

Canadians are price-gougers, taking advantage of us poor Americans in our time of need.
