I recently recall reading some where about peoples time spent 'gaming' being monitored ( in China I think ) ,the plan being to cut down youngsters time wasted on hours of gaming,rather than education.

A general concensus at the time,was that would be almost impossible to implement.

Monitoring is always possible, even here, today in North America.

Your phones (Cell & Home) can be monitored.
What you watch on TV can be monitored.
What you buy in stores (those savings cards???)
What you do on the internet, its all recorded.

So the fears of PB is nothing new to monitoring.

Me, I'm more concerned about Microsoft, and their new WGA process, which validates your Windows install, but it also continues to monitor your system, what files you put on, and make sure you don't monkey with any MS files ect.... It can, if they program it, monitor everything you do with your system, to include what you type.

I was reading about WoW and I really like how they implemented the "Rest" feature of the game which almost encourages taking time away from the computer at times...

I am simply amazed at what a huge alarm has been rung with EA talking of bringing PB to UO.

All you people with the privacy invasion theories and general fraking out about this have to loosen up your sphincters a bit...

I'm kind of indifferent about it. If it cuts down on the cheating, great. If it does not go through...that's fine too. It's like steroids in baseball, the cheaters will always be one step ahead of those trying to stop them.

I cant remember which one of the thousand PB threads I read on Uhall yesterday, but a guy brought up their TOS and they seemed to read VERY invasive. I dont care either way, as I dont use any of these illegal programs on my computer, so have at it. My gaming wont be affected. But it did sound a bit alarming the stuff you agree to when using it. If I can find it later today, I will post it.

Emulators are programs which mimic a UO server, so people can play on free shards.
