Personal reference?

Has anyone else here in the past been asked to provide two personal references on their Resume or on an application form?

If so, who did you put down and why?

I haven't a clue who to put down!

I put down a couple doctors that were in the hospital that I worked in.
I didnt work directly with them, so they werent considered personal references...but having an MD sign off on how good you are certainly sounds good

Aye.
Depending on company, usually a couple of Professional Reference's and then depending, a few personal.

Professional, so they can ask about your work ethics ect.
Personal, to find out what kind of person you are in public.

Yeah I've been asked that before...I usually use a family friend that I have, who I also did some work for.

Doctors would work well..I never thought of that before

Depends on the company for sure. If they just want to talk to someone who knows me and can testify to my living at a certain location I'll just put one of my buds.

Sometimes it's been teachers or professors. Sometimes it was close personal friends, once or twice it was public office holders.

I always use our church pastor and then add a friend who lives down the road from us who has known us for .. well... her little boys grew up with my kids who are in their 30s now.. so .. mostly forever. Doctors, a professional person as was mentioned, but not someone in your field of work usually..

2 personal references are not bad, wait till your asked to provide 10.

Ive been asked by every job ive every applied for.. in fact i thought it was a standard practice.... as far as who to put down.. ive never really known who as i don't really have anyone to reference me...

but, you can always put me down

... as long as they don't mind calling the US for the info

Nor have I figured out how to be gracefully passionate without appearing arrogant. In the end, I always seem to be arrogant and weak instead of humbly passionate.
