Lord of the Rings Online on 56k?

Sounds like a joke, I know. But for some reason the only other MMO up to this point I've played is Final Fantasy XI. It patches over night and then I play the next day.... laggy but I like the feeling of moving at a slow jog. The monsters don't seem to move that much faster than me.

Anyway, trying to get into LOTRO. It patched within forty mins or so. WOW!!!!! After it patched, it remembered what patch files it had so it didn't insist on patching again the next time I started it up. Only problem is that after it lets me select a shard to play on then a character editing sesssion, there's a screen I get stuck on. Ian McKellan says something about Thorin Oakenshield who ofcourse
lived and DIED during the events of the Hobbit
. After using several tweaks recommended on the customer support website involving my firewall, I finally get to an ingame scene. Gandalf is in the distance talking to Thorin. I haven't noticed Bilbo during the short interval that this screen stays active...

SO I'm fed up. Either it crashes BEFORE I get in game or within a few seconds after.

This is ridiculous. I managed play a little bit of Dark Age of Camelot (it is noticeably laggier than FF XI). And if I lag or have similiar connection problems with KR, I"m going to be pissed.

Here's the route traced by UOTRACE.
