Been thinking about buying our own house for a while now, but never actually did anything about it. So this weekend we went to a couple places selling new condo units. One is for a high rise that won't be built for 2 years, and 1 for a low rise condo that would be finished the end of this year.

Damn, I did not realize that houses are that expensive. Especially brand new ones. They were both going for +200K for a two bedroom condo. And those were pre-construction prices.

We have to go to the bank now and see how much they're willing to loan us so we can buy a house. Anyone have tips for first time home buyers? It's scary thinking about it, but I just think that it's one more step to growing up. lol.

Ouch that is expensive, but if it's of any consolation, my first house, which I bought with my brother, costs 190k, which in $, is about $350k?

The nice thing about pre-construction though..is usually the company will let me make some choices. Like paint color, carpet color, etc. And if you want to upgrade from what they standardly put in, you can pay them the extra and they will do that for you.

That's expensive for a condo..but then again...taking in consideration where you live, I guess that's normal hehe

But when I worked for a real estate agency, we had a lot of clients buy pre-construction simply so they could choose and wouldn't have to repaint or anything.
