Kitchen help needed: need male input too!

So I'm hosting my husbands Fantasy Football Draft tonight and I'm at a loss... what does one serve? I think he probably called ea and told them to turn off the login server so that i'd actually clean and prepare !

I'm a new wifey and never had to do stuff like this before! Theres 14 people coming if they don't bring wives and girls which I don't think they will cause its known space is an issue in my apartment. (But somehow mines still the biggest and got elected for the damn meeting). I was thinking like a chicken/crockpot thing cause I can just toss it in and cook all day without me and maybe a ziti cause its cheap and easy (or so i think cause i've never made it LOL)

p.s. lol at my title I made myself giggle.. male input.

I think a crockpot dish is a good way to go. Or at least something you can let cook most the day and not have to worry about it. Gives you time to get other things ready.

I'm a new wifey too..and I suck at cooking, so I'm not much help. But I think you have the right idea there!

I'd suggest finger foods as snacks. Maybe chicken wings, some nachos, with cheese and ground beef.

It doesn't have to be fancy, right? Some pasta, garlic bread?

Buffalo Wings.. hotter the better and LOTS of them. There's gonna be many a can of beer tossed back so keep the theme going by serving chili (again.. hotter the better) as the "main course". Now, just so your friends don't get TOO trashed.. here's a trick for ya.. serve the chili OVER corn bread.. that soaks up a TON of the alcohol. Finally, don't just put out potato chips.. put out tortilla chips as well and if you can get your hands on it, put out some Seven Layer Bean Dip as well. By the way.. this menu is the actual layout that John Madden uses when hosting football parties at his own home.

I'm scared of making buffalo wings cause I'm in buffalo. I'd be like me going to Italy and serving a family Ragu. Wings are nothing to mess with around here cause there's so many awesome places to get them and I don't have the money to order them. Plus they're messy and I have White carpet... pffft

Ha! Then there is a good standby! BBQ Riblets! They're very cheap to make.. the riblets in the butcher section of the supermarket usually sells uncooked riblets for around $1.75 per pound.. and BBQ sauce is always on sale as well. Mix Hickory flavor with one tablespoon of Tobasco sauce for every bottle you use to baste them with. Not going to be much better for the carpeting though.
