It's that time of year...

I'm a motorcycle guy

Got my first one when I was 6 years old and ive been hooked every since. It's been three summer now since ive owned my last one and im starting to get the shakes *gets wild look in his eyes*

Anyway, my wife and I are trying to save for a new house so that shot the "lets roll on over to the bike shop and buy a new motorcycle" ideal in the head real quick, fast and in a hurry. So hey I figure I'll save up to buy a good used bike and then maybe next year ole dragon can buy a new one. Now, this is were it gets complicated. I have always run sportbikes, couple ninjas, owned a CBR600rr and a 929rr. Couple of my buddies got some sport bikes and thats all ive ever owned. At work though everyone rides cruisers, ive never owned one. So im being pulled from both sides.

On one hand my bro's never see me anymore, I work second shift and my off days are thursday friday. So perhaps I should go with my fellow officers and buy me a cruiser. I like all forms of motorcycles, heck id be happy with a dirt bike but im not going to go that far, id rather have a street bike.

So far ive let two good deals slip by me because I was turn between what to buy, let a nice cruiser go and a nice sport bike. Grrrr.....So many decisions!

My head hurts

Re: It's that time of year...

ive always wanted to buy a bike... never really seem to have the money to make it a priority tho .. but, now that ive taken any credit away form my opinion.. ive always wanted a sport bike... i just love the look, and the speed..

but sometimes it is good to try new things maybe a crusier would work out better in the end.. good luck, whatever you choose

I've never figured out how to be gracefully humble without appearing weak.

Nor have I figured out how to be gracefully passionate without appearing arrogant.

In the end, I always seem to be arrogant and weak instead of humbly passionate.

Re: It's that time of year...

I honestly think it has to do partly on the size of the person. I say big guys look better on choppers, smaller/thinner guys look better on Sports Bikes.

I am a really big guy, so if I was ever to get a bike it would be a nice Harley. But I am going to stick to my car for now.

Forgive me for any mistakes in this post, I have not heard the term cruiser used except for police cars......*goes back to hiding from the government*

I would choose a cruiser every time but thats because I was always riding them and just don't enjoy sports bikes very much,
anyway I am built for comfort not speed

Re: It's that time of year...

Well so far ive got a sport bike nod and a cruiser nod

and the sexy nod did not go un noticed heh

I love sport bikes, because they are sleek and fast....really really fast.

Yeah really fast.....*shivers with excitment*

But cruisers they have that throaty manly "im gonna kick you and the nuts and your gonna cry like a little girl" appeal

I dunno im not a big guy, 5'10 170lbs but if I go with the cruiser im not going to get something big, something around 700cc's cheap and cheap on gas. Then next year or the year after that drop the hammer on a new bike:grin:

Re: It's that time of year...

I am 100% cruiser.. I have owned a bike since I was 20, first one was while in Japan. It was a sportster, then I moved back to the states, and traded up for a Dyna Low Rider. It is the only way I would ever go. I have tried the sport bikes, and they just dont have the same feel as a good ole cruiser. I like the feel of sitting back and just riding along. Not grabbing on for dear life while sitting on a 1/2" pad..

Although I am a Harley owner, and will always be one. I am not one of those bikers who discourages others from owning metric bikes. I think that anyone who wants to ride should choose what they feel most comfortable on.

All that matters is they are on the road on 2 wheels..

Re: It's that time of year...

I've been loooking into those V-star customs.

Not bad price for early (01-03) models, something to cruise around on to work and back until i can afford a real bike. Metric bikes are all ive ever owned, i love them all, make, model or origin of creation if its a motorcycle its cool.

*nods in agreement with Thradia*

We've been having great weather here in Virginia - and everyone is out on their bikes. I'm a personal fan of sport bikes...S-E-X-Y!!
