Helppppp my GeForce vid card won't work

I should have left well enough alone and dealt with the lag, but, nay I couldn't. So last nite I spent numerous hours reinstalling my computer from scratch to get back to XP yada yada yada... and ooops, lost my driver for my GeForce FX 5200 that I've only had for 2 months (original driver that came with it never worked had to download from site).

I installed the driver, and the vid card appears to be functioning properly according to device manager, however, when I plug my monitor into the GeForce I get nothing, nada, blank black screen. Any ideas on what I'm doing wrong? The card isn't anymore than 2 months old and was working fine prior to my reinstalling XP.

I'm abit confused, how did you check the card was working if the monitor doesn't work?

Or were you using an onboard video card to set it up with etc?

How old is the monitor? Maybe monitor is not too happy with the new video card?

I was using the OEM vid card during install, and the monitor is brand new as well, purchased at same time. Now my computer isn't even recognizing the video card is even installed. loose connection maybe???

Taking it back to where the install was done so they can troubleshoot for me. I'm soooo frustrated with it.

Well if it's worked well after the initial installation of the new video card, I'm crossing out power supply as an option.
Typically a PC needs 180W to boot, but with the new video card, it can suck up as much as 300w depending on the video card. Some need more juice than others.
Would you happen to know your wattage off hand? Maybe there isn't enough juice getting to your video card?

Is the monitor's power light coming on at all?

Is your OEM vid card built into the motherboard and if so do you need to disable it for the other one to work?

I was lucky to only have a simple problem with Gorefang just the other day... this is defintally complexed stuff (or least for me) =/
