I actually know of somewhere that has black and tan puppies but I doubt you want to travel out of state.

Male or female? Papers or does it matter?
There are some registered dog breeders that will ship a dog to you if you are willing to pay for it. I also know there are sites for breeders of dogs and you can look up a local breeder.

hmm, depends. Most likely, I would perfer papers, but with a pic or something I mean it all depends. Ive tried to find local breeders but no luck. I went to a vet today and they said they sold their last one and put our name on the list. But we do want a female. Do you know of an alt way of finsing a breeder than google? Thats all I use google. lol....

They might have a list of GS breeders. I know they have ads for dogs for sale.

Have you thought if you are going to get a puppy, or a full grown dog? That might affect the price too. Then again you have to consider the time you have to raise and train a puppy. You want it to become a well behaved dog... ill behaving large dogs are horrid.

Heh I used to groom dogs, and had a few breeders as clients. Personally I liked the siberian husky breed, they are very good natured but very protective. Then again if you want straight protection, akitas are great.

What area are you in, and how far would you be willing to go to pick up a pup? If you can't find anything on those sites let me know.

Please everyone knows if you want a superior protecting dog you need a swarm of jack russel terriers.

Have you looked into possible adoption/purchase of a dog from the local police academy? Not all dogs make it thru the program and you may be able to contact them about adopting those dogs. Or you could adopt a dog that is a little older and maybe being retired from the force. Just a thought...
