I, and two others, have purchased the new 9th Anniversary Edition of Ultima Online. Included are many new features and rewards for early purchase we had intended to enjoy. When we purchased our copies of the disc, as the codes were not available through any standard means online, WE DID NOT GET CODES IN OUR MANUALS! Inside the manual it says to call EA, who tells us to go the the retail outlet we purchased it from. When retutning to the source of purchase they tell us that it clearly states EA is responsible. Long story short, 60 dollars worth of UO, a tank of gas, and a day off work with nothing to show for it but frustration and useless UO software.

My guess is that it is a manufacturing error which has effected many more than us three individuals. I have sent a PM to Jeremy, and await a (hopefully) positive reply. I am not sure what sort of assistance can be provided. I understand it is difficult to prove I have not doctored the image or anything. I assume nothing, with any luck I will not have to buy it again. Were I an employee of EA: I would follow the rules set in front of me, which I have no doubt includes a bureaucratic method of "ignoring" the problem without placing blame or offending anyone involved.
I'll just think positive thoughts, and worst case I'm right back where I was before. Thats not the end of the world. |

Umm, there are no codes in the manual. You use the upgrade code on the BACK of the manual, the same one you used to upgrade the account.
Or are you saying that there are no codes on the back of the manual? OK, sorry at work on dial-up so it took a bit for the picture to load. WOW, that's wierd. What retailer did you buy from?

Yes, the back cover of the manual within the box after opening it. I have scanned it to fax to EA and included a link to it in the original post.
http://www.online-hard-drive.com/unsorted/uosuxbak.gif When I called EA they told me to do so, and then the fax did not pick up. I called back twice and had the same thing happen. Inside the back cover flap it says they will send a new manual, but over the phone they say they do not. |

I purchased this from Wal-Mart. On a sad note, if three are missing numbers it is likely that it was every copy they sold this week, and everything left on the shelf. This information I cannot confirm.

Well sir I have not experienced this exact problem before, though I have had problems where I lost codes or codes I received did not work. In these cases I went to the support site at the EA web page and submitted a question. I eventually received working codes; in some cases I got them fast, and in some cases slow, but in all cases I got working codes.

I have always been discouraged by the whole EA website help thing. No specific reason I suppose. I will just force myself to go through the procedure, I always knew I would eventually have to. Thanks for the info :grin:

The following information applies to the North America territories only. If you are not using an 'NA' version of the game or do not live in that territory, you must consult your manual for the proper policies and information. Misprinted or Invalid Serial Replacement: If you meet one of the following criteria, and you are within the 90 day warranty period, you can send a request to Electronic Arts for a replacement serial number. 1. The serial number is illegible or missing characters. 2. The serial number is not printed on the lower left portion on the back of the jewel case, inside the jewel case, or on the back of the manual. 3. A Technical Support Representative deems the serial number provided with the game as invalid. When sending a request for a replacement serial number, please include the following: 1. The original insert from the back of the jewel case displaying the invalid or misprinted number, or the manual displaying the invalid or misprinted number. 2. Explanation of the situation 3. First and Last Name 4. Return Address 5. Email Address 6.
