Don't do as Thradia Does..

So here's my story that I figured I'd share...

While Tefret was up working, he was getting little sleep. My dad and I wanted to give him a break, so I offered that we would take his work truck and get it filled up and the gas cans that they needed. This would give him an extra half hour.

So off the two of us went...after a scamble about finding the gas card and pin number, we ended up at the PetroPass (cardlock type of gas station for companies)

We pull up...the pump in front of us is diesel, nope don't want that, so we go to the back pumps. Dad picks a pump and I punch in the info. As we're almost done, he comments on how foamy the gas is. I thought nothing of it.

So we drive away, headed to the grocery store.

*thunk, clunk, bang*

Umm....we both look at each other. The trucks starts to crawl.

"That's was gas we put in it right?" "I didn't look, I assumed you pulled up to the gas pump"

We spun around and drove back, barely getting there to see we put diesel into a gas engine DOH!!!! My dad's a smart guy, but together, we have our moments.

So what do we do?? Drive that sucker back to the house. Get a hose and illegally siphon it into a storm drain. We got Tefret to help stand around it so people couldn't see us. We siphoned almost the entire tank into the drain and man did the neighbourhood stink that night.

We had a can of gas and got the tank over three quarters filled with gas and ran the diesel though. And we did it with enough time that Tefret could tank that truck to work lol

Never send my dad and I do a job...there is a 50/50 chance something will happen!

But the truck is fine...we got enough diesel out that it didn't ruin the engine.

lol... glad the truck's fine. That's why I always go to a full-service station.

Well with the company trucks..they use a special card that charges the company for fuel...and I don't think any of them are full serve

every gas station i have ever gone to the diesel pumps have a different size nozzel that doesn't fit into the gas tank... that and they are all very clearly marked... and have different color pumps.... and are usually seperated from the other pumps (but no always)...

although, ive still heard of people doing this... they weren't so lucky as to get it fixed before the engine was perma-screwed.

so.. all in all kudos to u for fixing the problem

Yeah I should mention that while my Dad was filling up, he made a comment about how the nozzle didn't fit very well..lol...

So...um..yeah

If memory serves, youll want to change the spark plugs, or at least take them out and clean them. Somtheing about "fouled plugs" is ringing around in my brain.

Nor have I figured out how to be gracefully passionate without appearing arrogant. In the end, I always seem to be arrogant and weak instead of humbly passionate.
