This is just too weird...

When I was about 28 or so, I dated a guy named James for a while. He was sweet, funny, a great guy. We got along great. Weird circumstances beyond our control broke us apart. We did not split with any hard feelings between us at all.

A couple of years after that, I was working as a receptionist at a computer systems company. One day I answered the phone to take a service call for the repairmen. On the other end of the phone was James! We recognized each others voices, and talked for a long time. We met up a few times for coffee and dinner type dates. Again, due to circumstances, we drifted apart. Again, there were no hard feelings, and we parted on good terms.

Now....
Due to some weird things, fate has thrown James in my path AGAIN! Several years later, our lives intersect again. This time, I had sent an email about volunteering at a huge music festival. Out of all the people involved in the volunteer program, my email happened to cross James' desk. Considering that thousands of people all over the world are involved in the festival, the odds of him finding MY email are pretty darn slim. This is really too weird.

James and I have always gotten along fantastically. We share all the same interests, and love doing the same things. We are just different enough to not get bored tho. Even our friends all got along together. This was a guy that I felt totally comfortable with, and we did all sorts of things together. Maybe the relationships seemed sweeter because they didn't last long enough for rotten things to start happening. But, if I had a gauge for guys I have dated in the past, he would definately be at the high end.

This is really kind of tripping me out. It's like something is shoving this guy under my nose again, yelling, "HEY! Here is another chance! Take it for pete's sake!" It is a time in both of our lives where we are single, and I don't see anything that would prevent us from seeing each other except distance. I live about 60 miles away from where he lives now. If you think about it tho, that isn't much at all. We can meet up at places in the middle or such.

A friend and I were trying to figure the odds of his and my paths crossing like this not once, not twice, but three times. I'm thinking I might have been struck by lightning before this should have happened. lol

He told me that even after all this time, he still thought about me. So, I am guessing he is not totally indifferent to things. I am going to give him a call tomorrow afternoon, and see what happens. I don't expect us to fall right back into our old relationship. People do change after all. But, I don't see the harm in meeting up for a coffee or dinner.. or whatever. Actually I am excited about it! Hm, maybe I will wait to see him again til after I lose ten pounds or so tho lol.

Have I mentioned I lead a strange life? lol

This is destiny! Go for it Adri, an hours drive is a drop in the bucket! Some people drive that far every day just to get to work!

No matter what happens with "James" I wish you all the happiness in the world Adri. You deserve it.

Definately a plan for now. It's been years since we have seen each other. I have no plans to fall into anyone's bed any time soon.

With odds like that, something COULD happen with lightning, even during the date. Thus to make sure you would keep up with your "Wearing metal panties in a lightning storm" status, else you'd have to find a new line.
