Anyone in the SCA?

Just wondering if anyone here is in the SCA. I'm not, though I've often wanted to join... Still, I enjoy talking to people in it. I'm also trying to find an actual artisan who can do RL hand embroidery on a leather tunic/jerkin. I hate to take it to a fabric shop to have it done by a machine when I know there are so many talented artisans here in Texas. Would rather have it done by hand, you know?

Where abouts in Texas? I know that the SCA can help you with finding someone to do the embroidery. I have some friends who are in it, and I want to join! One of my friends is a knight and jousts and does swords stuff. He paid a fortune for chainmail too.

My buddy is a knight of a realm, therefore would be 'blue' to us.

He does have to defend the realm from bandits, challengers, and general marauders however.
