Your monitor didnt grow to full size then?

Got a guy in my local pet shop who owns a 5ft monitor, told me about the way when they are you young youve got to be brutaly physical with them, constantly showing them whos boss or they get proper attitude and never lose it

Well it was a big pizza box with like 4 large frozen pizza's in it. Ducky was about this big but he was dark and evil and bit and flung poop as projectiles.

I'm not sure how it would work on animals, but tea tree oil is a good disinfectant. It also work for getting rid of fleas. But check with your vet first, most important!

Re: Any Vets or Dr's here?

I am begainning to think it was caused by a stroke... Trinsic is eatting normal, his ears look like all the other rats and doesn't seem to be holding his ears at all. He acts normal accept the fact his head is tilted.

I remember some humans I know they had a stroke and they have some problems similar to that depending on how sevear it was. One had her whole face unable to control it...

So I am thinking it was a stroke. =*( Rats are also prone to strokes I think mostly because thier incredibly quick heart rate...

The other rats keep picking on him because he is tilted so he is going to just have to stay in his own cage and only interact with them while out with "me" not by himself while not around my prescence. I do not want Trinsic to get hurt though he is a powerful little one but 3 rats against 1 isn't a very fair.

I do not know why animals do that =( If one is sick, unhealthy, or looks funny they pick on them like humans... but normally they try to kill them off even if they have a possible chance of living longer than the "healthy" looking animal. It is thier nature but still it stinks... just hope he is going to be okay without the other rats sense rats are social and they can get sad and depressed but that is why I am going to have him out while the other rats are out on my lap or whatever.

Re: Any Vets or Dr's here?

You could be right about it having a stroke, ive read that before about rodents (a lot of rodents get it). And yeah its kinda sad that they pick on the weak ones, dawnism at its lowest i guess. Horrible though it sounds, if humans had picked on thier weak and killed them off, we wouldnt have the overpopulation or the illnesses that we have today. Most would have been bred out of the human race by now. Kinda horrible thought isnt it.

Yeah it is sad but true, but I mean sometimes things like this happens and he is incredibly strong other that the tiltness so I think he would be in game technically in the animal world but hehe in my house everyone lives no matter how awful (unless they are suffering and no longer have a life to "Live" happily then I would take them to a vet for them to be put to sleep... don't like that thought neither but sometimes it needs to be done =*(

But he is doing good considering ^_^

Re: Any Vets or Dr's here?

Oddly enough my first cat had what I thought was a stroke and turned out to have a really nasty ear infection. The vet reckoned it had just gotten really deep and inflamed around that side, causing problems for her with eyesight and just general functioning. She had the head tilted too, looked a right state so quick I didn't think it could be anything else. Never scratched an ear, didn't smell nasty either till you took her up close. Little devils can be very decieving at times.

Put it this way, I phoned vet to do a home visit thinking she was going to get put down. Out comes vet with ths bottle of ear cleaning stuff and some jabs. Fluff didn't like it, but that and the antibiotics and I had a new cat in a few days. Her eyes were still a bit poor but she did get outside again.
