Thank you all! I really hope I can enjoy my time over there. This is a great opportunity for me and if it plays out like I plan on, then I will be set for a while. It has been 3 years since I've been in Qatar, and I have heard they have upgraded ALOT of their facilities, as last time they were living in tents. I think now they are in trailer type dorms, and most of the facilities are upgraded as well. When I was there, I was down the street at the Army base, which was the really nice one. It was the R&R place for Iraq folks, so they had to make it nice. I am bringing a buttload of DVDs so I'm sure it will keep me busy for a while. I know I can watch my SG-1 series over and over, so theres like a month of time wasted.... hehe.

Anyone know of any good games that aren't internet based? I want to find something as indepth as UO/WoW that isnt like the offline worldcraft, diablo(god view, controlling armies) crap like that. I bought Oblivian this weekend and really hope its as fun as the dude at Best Buy said.

I'm still debating on taking one of those jobs myself, a very close friend of mine has been doing it for over 2 years and I actually just spent yesterday with him. He's going back soon again, I think somewhere near Mosul this time.

He's done guard work in Qatar and he said activity in the area has been pretty light (as of summer last year). Internet connection should still be fine there so use it to contact your family, then drop us a line from time to time and let us know your fine.
