An Announcement

To all,
I have recently been offered a job where I will be pulled away from my family, my home, my country, and you guys. I have been offered a position in Qatar, for one year. I am not sure of the internet connectivity there, so I am making the announcement just incase. I will be leaving this Sunday night, and will return approximately 19 FEB 08. I have been doing alot of thinking and soul searching, and taking this job felt like the right decision. I do not like idea of leaving for such a long time, but the stability it will provide for my family for the future was a huge factor in this decision. It is a government contract job on an Air Force Base in Qatar, maintaining fire alarms systems. The pay is awesome, which is a bonus! I hope to be able to come to the forums if possible, even if only for a minute or two here and there. This forum is a huge part of my life and I hate to leave it, but I will do my best to come in and check up on you all now and then, and smack around those who need smacking!

I will still be around for a few days until I leave for Florida, and even then, I'll be in Florida til 2 MAR(hopefully having net access in my hotel), and at that time I dont know what will happen from there. Who knows, I may get there and will be able to post everyday from an internet cafe, or not. The lines last time at the cafe when I deployed there were horrible, and it was an hours wait just about everytime I tried, on computers that were built in 1980.

So this is a temporary farewell to you all. I will see everyone in a year!!!

Best of luck to ya Bo! *hugs hugs* Sounds like a great opportunity, even though you will be away from your family for so long. But at least you'll be able to spoil them rotten when you return!

Should be better internet there now. And as a civilian, better access to better things. Wish you well.
P.S., the P-3 squadrons usually have better computers, with internet acess, and are not usually on the same firewall as the Air Force. A little bartering with the Maintenance Control chiefs will take you far.
