Will having protection on (which drop resist by 35 skill points) raise resist faster then without protection?

I didn't notice any difference in gains.

For magic resist gains go get a heap of Spellbinders on you in Haven [New?] and just run around.

I got from 80 to GM in about 6 hours or so.

Thanks for the replies I finished yesterday, well at 115 until I get 120 scroll. But I had 7 of them on me. Went from 105 to 115 in about 3 hours with protection on.

have a friend help you. put a boat on the west shore, and have your friend pull them up to u and invis. we do this all the time and by the end u usually have 15 or so on you.

yes protection helps you. if your a dexxer cast it off a scroll.

Protection seems to make a bigger difference after GM than before, but to each their own.

My new friend went from 55-100 in an hour and a half off in the manner described here, without the use of protection.

Using that tactic is a punishable offense and you could be subject to ban if you are caught by the wrong person engaging in that tactic.

Using spellbinders is not illegal but luring them to and using a boat is illegal as I found out......I learned the hard way

I just cast mana drain on myself for a day, i use uoassist to do it.

There are only 12 spectral spellbinders in New Haven.

You can go from 0 to GM in less than three hours if you aggro them all and you use a low skill point (200) character.

Someone needs to sticky this topic or make a HOW TO entry in UO FAQs. We've collectively answered this question at least a dozen times.
