Question Targeting

If this has already been covered somewhere.. please just give me a link
Anyway.. can someone explain the targeting system for pvp to me?
I dont have UOassist or any add on programs if thats what it requires.
I know double clicking ppl cant be the best way to target an opponent, so what is?
Thanks!!

Re: Targeting

Don't have a link but I'm sure someone else does and it will have better info than this.

In UO's in game macro system (the old system) you can create macros for Target Next and Last Target (if you've already dbl-clicked a target).

The new system allows you to Target Next _______ (filled in with a couple different choises, Hostile is one).

It's early and pre-coffee so that's all I can come up with for now.

Re: Targeting

To initially target someone/something you can also drag the life bar off of it. *shrugs*

Re: Targeting

try the new targetting system.

Set one button for Select next (mobile).
Pressing this will toggle your active last target between every player on screen, along with popping their bar up.

Set a second button for attack last
Once you toggle the select next onto desired target, simply hit the attack last button...comes in very handy.
This will also work in conjunction with the client based last target (but not the uoa based last target)
I also often use a dagger or newbie scissors if there are way too many names on screen to toggle thru...i hit f7 and it simply dbl clicks my newbified scissors giving me a target cursor, I drag the bar of my desired target, and target them w/ my scissors.
Now they are my last target, i can then simply hit attack last and i will start to whack at them.

Re: Targeting

ya i did
u should try select next/mobile isntead of target next.
not only does it usually not toggle thru monsters, making it much easier to find yer target...but it actually pops selected target's bar up...this makes it much easier (expecially for mages who for reasons i wont get into MUST use uoassists last target which does not work in conjunction w/ client target next) to select next/ and target their bar w/ precasted spell, or dagger macro like I mentioned, or what ever.
Also, select next mobile will work in conjunction w/ the old attack last, dont need to change attack last to the new attack selected...not that it matters.
new targeting system must be enabled in options for this to work.

Re: Targeting

attack last is also a must have for reskilling...or for chasing around some annoying guy who hides behind houses to untarget himself from you.
assuming he is you're selected target, just hold down the attack last button =p
works wonders
