Tamers and PvP
I was thinking of having some PVP fun by taking 5 frenzied ostards to fel. I was thinking since it wasnt something crazy like a dragon or a Cu people would not be offended. So heres the question, If I came to Fel and killed you with 5 frenz ostards, would you think less of me?

Re: Tamers and PvP
tamers suck...!!!
ill say this tho, a tamer w/ bush and a bokuto or no-dachi (or both...) ....or a archer/tamer that dismounts w/ a heavy...with a beetle+ a mare....or a hiryu even if its trained up...pretty nasty to deal with. if a char annoys me then i consider it an effective char, and those types annoy the piss out of me =p |

When the time comes, its about killing. Regardless of the outcome, there will always be oneside upset. Have fun with it.

Re: Tamers and PvP
With a tamer, I had no problems of getting messed with in Fel. I usually had my dragon or White Wurm tagging along as well as the Nightmare I was riding. I usually played escort for my friends that were harvesting resources. Or had her hidden out while I harvested myself. Regardless of the outcome, many potential thieves and pk's turned and wandered off when she made an appearance.
I couldn't pvp worth beans either... so it was a nice thing to have a little leverage. |

It'd be even better to have 5 squirrels, but that's just me.

Re: Tamers and PvP
Personally, I do not like tamers. I know it takes a long time to get a good tamer and all this other stuff, but I just don't see the luster in saying "all kill" and "all follow me" as game play. To me, tamers in fel, are as bad as having a group of stealth/dismount archers. PvP, is what it is. Player vs. Player. Not Player vs. Player's Animals.
I understand and acknowledge the fact that it is legal and totally plausible to have a tamer PvP'er, but in my eyes, doing something like this is about as low as you can go. If you have to rely on pets to make up for your lack of ability/skill as a player in player vs. player combat, maybe you should take a look at yourself and realize that PvP'ing might not be for you. This is not an attack on anyone, just my opinion in general of the topic at hand. Tamers should be left to do the only thing that they do well, and that is being a meatshield for those tough to kill monsters. |

Re: Tamers and PvP
I play a tamer and the only time I pvp with her is if I can't get away. She just isn't made to pvp. Even then, I just use an animal as a distraction until I can get some help, or escape. If I want to pvp I play another type of char. *shrugs* That's just me tho. My tamer has been red before. It's a hassle trying to bank and stable with a red tamer lol.

Re: Tamers and PvP
Heh, I see no problem with Tamer PvPers. It's a playstyle and no one should be limited to just tanking so everyone else is safe.
Besides, it changes the tempo of either para/flamestrike/explo/para or blood oath/poison strike/poison strike/poison strike.

Re: Tamers and PvP
Never really saw much PvP before anywhere. Usually PvPPPP or if they are alone they hit you when they you are hunting something else so you are fighting a war on two fronts anyway. The tamer is just bringing their own gank squad which is fine if it gets the job done.
