Rules of Engagement
Does anyone out ther have a set of rules of engagement they follow when they a re in Fel? A Friend and I were attacked while farming drags so we smoked him. This happened 3 or four times. After a while I said just one of us should go at it since it doe snot seem fair that we both attacked at once. The only problem I have is that he waited for use to be fighting a drag then he attacked. Even with that I could not bring myself to kill his ride. Maybe I am too nice for Fel.

Re: Rules of Engagement
If your "too nice" just kill, then rez. If they attack again, wash and repeat.

Re: Rules of Engagement
For the most part, PVP in (any game) is a catch 22. If you all jump the one guy, he will complain, and say the sides are uneven and that you have an unfair advantage. Yet, if you fight him alone, and he uses the dragons to his advantage and kills you, then he'll laugh over your body and talk about how much of a noob you are.
Damned if you do, damned if you don't. The fact that you feel a bit guilty is good enough for anyone--it generally means you have a heart, and that's appreciated in any game. ![]() Care to help build PVP on the Atlantic Server? Get with ICB and help me bring back the faction raid! |

Re: Rules of Engagement
When it comes to player killing, the only thing that matters is winning. If you want to be Chivilarious, go kill dragons in the name of some town. The days of the Duelist are long over.

Kill anything that isn't a friend, ally or in contract with.

Re: Rules of Engagement
If someone picks a fight with two people and two people fight him, that's acceptable.
Usually my rules of engagement begin with a "hi" and making sure the person wants to fight, but if they pick the fight without a "hi", then there are no rules. Unconsensual pvp has no rules, though even if your opponent is uncivil, I personally still try to be civil, win or lose. ![]()

Re: Rules of Engagement
Yes I think that is why I couldn't completely do PvP too... PC's there is always good and bad people but NPC's especailly pets people love and grown attached to it isn't thier fault that some are tamed by jerks... so I have a VERY hard time at killing them... I hate killing even normal NPC's haha! But I know that is the game mechanics and they are always seem eagered to set me a challenge sense I am not so good at the game as it is and die by computer controlled NPC's alot hehe. Well least they "act" happy! Now there is VERY few NPC's a hold a grudge but they are not here in UO so hehe
Darn Mr. Stompy in WoW! >_< PvP in my behalf is just to go out there and have fun, I mean come on PvP is about going agianst each other in the first place... if they can not handle they are dieing or whatever... for whatever situation they are up against and such I guess it is best they not PvP. I mean if you are killing them and they comeplaing I guess it is more of a compliment... in a strange way I guess... If you could handle the dragons AND him... yeah I consider it a compliment I personally wouldn't jump people when they "are" fighting against something... they are busy hehe. Yes 2 on 1 isn't I guess fair but it wasn't fair for him in the first place to jump you while you are fighting dragons! He was just complaining... so don't worry about it. I think you did the right thing! Or least in my book you did! I like honorable / fairness in battles... You fight dragons with friend, he attacks you while dragon biting you, get rid of the pest, and go back to what you need to do hehe. You said he did it 2 to 4 times... so yup him fault. Me I would like to watch PvP because it fasinates me on how talented people are but haha I could never survive long enough to watch! I bet there is a ton of intresting battles... ah well Trammel for me and Desertrose hehe ^_^ As for rules in Felucca, I do not think there is really any... just the "personal rules" you would like to follow... like fairness or unfairness, honorable, dishonorable... whatever makes you happy, do just that! If you only want to kill him and not his NPC friend then don't! ^_^ Play the game the way you think it should be done and longs your having fun that is what matters right? -RMS Carpathia- ![]()

Re: Rules of Engagement
If you're red, you should know you're going to get ganked where ever you go. You don't have to go red, it's your choice. So knowing all this, if you complain about ganks, you should just quit uo now. Stop wasting your time and everyone elses.
If you commit a crime in fel that turns you grey, prepare to be ganked. Simple as that. Don't commit crimes or kill people if you're not willing to put up with the ganks. There is no honor in player killing anymore, it's a well known fact, especially on atlantic. If you're red, I'm going to kill you, and so is everyone else around. If you don't like it, don't be red. edit: This is also true the other way around. If you don't like ganks, exploiters, speed hackers, don't go to fel or stick to organized pvp situations, like tournaments and such. Fel is controlled by these types of people, and they wonder why no one comes to fel to fight them. hmmm |
