PvP without Arties

So I play on Great Lakes, and we have a pretty thriving RP conglomerate, and recently we have decided that we are going to start PvPing with no artifacts and no jewelry. In fact we have decided that we are going to use gm only armor and weapons. Because dexers have an advantage, Mages will be allowed to use a scrappers with 1 FC and 1 FCR.

Bearing all this in mind, I need a template for a mage and a dexer that will set me apart WITHOUT using any extra uber gear.

Help a brother out.

2 things. If you plan on fighting only eachother, then try the following below this paragraph. If you are planning on going out and fighting everyone else, you will get wiped instantly and nothing will set you apart. You guys would get taken out almost with no effort. I dont suggest it.

1. for a mage throw on inscription, you will get nice SDI bonus, and be a little ahead of the guys you are fighting. Also throw on poison for harder cures.

2. For a dexer, try to fit ninjitsu, chiv, and bushido on it, so you have more offensive additives to your attacks.

We are fighting only with each other. We have a pretty large community and we are getting everyone to agree on those rules.

Currently I have

Montresor:
100 anat
90 chivalry
80 poison
100 healing
100 ninjitsu
120 fencing
110 resist

The question I have with him is is it still viable to go 0 tactics when you can't have any +dmg modifiers outside the +35 bonus to GM weps?

Then I have My Macer who is
120 Macing
100 resist
100 bushido
100 parry
90 anat
90 healing
100 tactics

Any suggestions on him?

Finally my mage, who I can't decide what to do with, but he does already have inscription.

Currently he is:
100 eval
100 wrestling
100 magery
100 med
100 resist
100 scribe
for a total of 600 skill points.

What should I do with these guys?

If you plan on only fighting each other, then dump all meditation and focus. You won't need the MR, but go human so you get at least a bit. Bo's templates would work well.

110 Mage - you won't be needing the high level spells
120 Eval
100 Inscription
120 Nujitsu
120 Wep Skill
80 Nox
70 Spell Weaving

That would work well, its an expensive build just to kill guildies with, but you won't die very often with that template. Use pixies against mages, they'll cast on them (harm and poison).

The other option would be to go Scribe/Mage/Necro.

Blood Oath, Evil Omen, Corpse Skin, Pain Spike or Fire Ball spam.

Ok, with this I would add tactics into the mix if possible. It will help your damage since you wont have DI other than on weapons. You can drop your healing down to 90, chiv down to 70. I get away without resist on my straight dexer and carry a trap box, I dont know if thats within your rules, to carry a box and petals/apples. I would suggest using bushido instead of ninjitsu here though, as ninjitsu is a great field skill, but in duels and whatnot you will be better served to have bushido, cause of lightning strikes, confidence, evade, and weapon specials, like nerve strike.
Change the macing to this guy and use fencing on next char.


Then I have My Macer who is
120 Macing
100 resist
100 bushido

90 anat
90 healing
100 tactics

This is where you should put your fencing. I'll explain in a few. This could be a great gimp character there, with taking out tactics/bushido and throwing ninjitsu on this guy instead. Now get nox on this guy. Do whatever it takes to get the 200 nox/weapon combo. I would have suggested not having healing, but since you will be casting at 0/0 chiv heals are not recommended. with the damage you may get in your deathstrikes/focus attacks/nox, you could probably get away without tactics.

Bust your eval/med up to 120 if possible, since you wont have much MR, throw the rest into focus for as much MR as possible, and you should be set. Or if you dont want to put focus, throw nox for that 200pt total too. DP can be your best friend on ANY pvp template. Well, except archery, cause its null there.
