I decided to mess with some PVP killers last night with my White Wyrm and my mare... The person i decided to kill took a good beating from them but some how he was able to kill both my WW and Mare... is that really possible? They both have good stats... just wondering if i should have brought my dragon and ww together...

Of course it is possible, you just saw it happen! A smart enough player with the right skills can kill any number of pets & tamers, as they are not class generally conduscive to PvP. However, if you learn to use your pets FOR PvP and choose the right pet combinations, you can be just as deadly.

considering even well trained pets still normally have lower stats then the wild counterparts. the little skills that they might have been trained higher with dont seem to effect it that much. pets in pvp do have a small roll though, as a well timed hiryu dismount or a runebeetle armor corosion gank can get annoying. Not to mention a pack of frenzied ostys comign at you.

With the insane new weapons out there.. its quite easy now for a stealth/bushido/archer to pick off your pets before you even know what happened. I use a tactic that doesn't directly kill a pet, but causes it to be killed by the spawns instead. I stealth up and hit with LP.. while the pet is trying to cure itself its getting beaten silly by the spawn. In the meantime, the tamer is frantically trying to heal his pets and at that point gets a dose of LP himself followed by Death Strike... <3 for tamers and their loot.
