I was thinking about getting into a little PvP action in the not too distant future so I was wondering if this would work. Basically I don't wanna spend millions on power scrolls then millions on armour to be able to stand and fight when I could just kill people on sight (hopefully).

Max out str (maybe 40 dex and 10 int)
Have one good kryss, str buffing bracelets, rings, anything else with a +str bonus that can be found
Bog standard off the rack plate armour (uninsured cos its cheap)

120 fencing
120 tactics
120 anatomy
100 alchemy
100 poisoning
70 parry
70 resist spells
(maybe trade parry and RS in for focus)

Basic tactics would be spot a person, pot up with greater str potion,infect, armour ignore (during which time use greater explosion potion), run a little bit, hope they didnt notice the potion, collect whatever they drop and then go to the bank to get their insurance money.

Pretty basic but to use a much over used phrase 'the best defence is a good offence'. Plus the kryss is one handed and I'd have greater heal potions. Any thoughts on that?

Expecting a PvP'er to stand still is a bit much. More then likely they will chase you

I'll give you 50 to 1 odds you'll die more than the other guys. As Vepl said, I've never seen a guy stand still as you anticipate unless they were afk. Secondly, you won't hit them every time, so thinking infect, ai, explosion pot all in 5 seconds will do it....well....no. Finally, they'll be hitting back, and they will also be running specials on your average armor, causing YOU more damage. You can try, and since you don't have much into it it won't hurt you financially, but don't expect great success either.

FWIW, you don't go to the bank to get their insurance money, it's automatically deposited in your account....perhaps I misunderstood you though. I would also have more than 70 resist as well, though that's a personal decision.

What would you say is the average str of a PKer on UO? I've seen templates leaning more towards dex than str. I might be way off because on some games (yet to test it on UO) str doesn't make you hit that much harder.

If it does boost your hit a lot then fancy pants armour wouldn't mean jack, you'd both be hitting roughly the same amount of times, the dagger would be fast and the extra str would also give higher hp. So i guess it all depends on how much effect str has over max hit "/

and is there a cap on having an attribute too high? Like can you only have (x) str or as much as as you can have within 225 like that build would give 175?

str stops at 125, everything over that must come from items.

UO is whacky, STR does only damage increase, and that aint so much. Check out the combat calculator on stratics.

Also, check out the weapons calculator for good idea of effect of str over dex. Remember, it is best to swing more (therefore hit more) than it is to do max damage but hit less, over the same period of time.

Thanks baldguy Guess that on pen and paper the theory's sound. 'I'll hit harder than you and have more hp to back it up' . Guess I wont be PKing anytime soon then. Kinda dumb that all it takes to be a half decent PKer is a shed load of cash "/

I killed two kitt'ed out Mage PK'ers on lake austin, with my PURE PvM Vampurai. Not even a GREAT kit ( about 2.5 mill total in it, all earned while skilling up.)

Wow. You need mana, you need healing. Pvp isnt about who kills the fastest, its who survives the longest. If you kill one person and die and are ok with losing all your pots, ok. But its when you kill 3-4 people without dieing that you start to feel good about the experience.

Drop alchemy for healing. Pump dex to 120 and keep strength at 100, rest in mana. Maybe pick up chiv and you will last longer. a 3/6 chiv casting dexer with 60s all should only cost around 2 mil.
