So what's your funniest moments in UO?

Does running around naked at a wedding count?

I can think of a couple of things which were funny. I think what pops to my immediate mind tho is when I was a newbie, in my first guild. We were running around doing t-maps. Walking down a path in the middle of no where, there was a hair dresser. After a few moments of debate, someone decided to kill him. So, the hair dresser was attacked. We stood around for a few minutes watching, until someone walked by and pointed out, "You people realize you are getting beat down by a hair dresser, right?"

Or, remember the old paladins that were outside of Delucia? The naked NPC ones? Those were always a trip! lol

I started this thread a few months ago on here, but it got buried. LOL

Anyway, my funniest moment - when I was a noob (wiat I still am, nvm) But anyway, when I was a noob I'd trained spellweaving up to a decent-ish level, about 60. Me and some of my fellow Trammel based guildmates ventured into fel. We stood at Britain gate, dismounted, summoned 5 pixxies each and set them on an unsuspecting red. Well, you ever seen a mage get attacked by 25 pixxies. Understandably he ran, whilst poisoned, weaken, and fireballed. Pixxies move at mounted speed and can cast whilst moving. If only I was a pixxie................

BTW he died after a very short chase, probably cursing all the way to Magencia.

The funniest was actually almost the first thing I did in UO. All 3 of my RL brothers were in UO beta before me. When I finally joined beta, I met them in Brit and got some items, then they took me to Jhelom, we then went to the farm. They told me we had to skill up and there were dangerous monsters here to skill on. We went into the fenced in area, they then screamed "THE CHICKENS MUST DIE!" and after them we went, a couple of minutes later they were screaming "RUN AWAY RUN AWAY".

I had tears running down my face from laughing so hard. I guess you had to be there, but the land was new and amazing and I'll never, ever forget that.

A few years back on Lake Superior, there was this cool dude named Talin. He was a scribe wrestling mage and the ultimate Rabbit. Let me explain that a little bit...

...When our guild or just some mates would go to doom, no matter how bad of luck we have had in the past at Doom gauntlet, when he was with us, SOMEone would get an artifact. Normally one of the good ones too, not just the bonecrusher or whatnot. When we did an event when he first got in the guild, we did a guilded pvp event around Njelm. No one could catch him. paraliaze, armor ignore.. nothing was slowing him down enough that we could even redline him. And no, I do not believe he was speed hacking, he just knew when to run and when to cast. And so, he was our luck charm (rabbits foot)

I have not seen or heard of Talin for some time and think of him often. Anyways, the best memory I have is My wife, Talin and myself in Cove tram dancing a Jig in 3d. Thinking of that seems to put a smile on my face to this day.

sidenote, that is the only thing I have enjoyed about the 3d client.

I think the funniest moment I had in UO, was with my cousin in fire dungeon

We'd not been there before and this was before AOS and LBR

We were killing the fire snakes, lava lizards and stuff

We decided to go deeper into the dungeon and came across a couple of warriors killing fire elementals, so we went past them and my cousin ran ahead while I was chatting to them
He came running back the other way with "a phoenix" in tow
We all laughed as he died to a single "peck"...but then that laughter turned to confusion as the bird flew near us, then immediatly flagged on all three of us because of it's heat aura
So yea, 4 of us died all within 10 seconds

Still funny though, we all laughed about it.

I guess it would have to be Gwen. When I first met her, she had a long, mispelled named which was supposed to be Gueniver (or however you spell the name of King Arthur's girlfriend's name). She was a newb who kept moving away from people in trammel because she didn't want to be stolen from. Months later after she vanished from the guild I was in, she reappears as... well... a thief.

This was in the days before AoS when murderers feared the stat loss. And moongates weren't so prissy. You could turn gray, hop to trammel, get some unsuspecting fellow to heal you, then call guards to get him whacked, then loot his gray corpse.

Anyhow, Gwen had a thief char and a non-thief (also named Gwen) who wore the same clothes. She steal from you, run off, log out, log back in with the innocent counter-part, then give you a count if you attacked and killed her char. I guess she disappeared after AoS.

I guess this contrasts with my own newbie experience: I used to log out my char inside brit bank. First I'd put all the goodies in my backpack in there, then strip the clothes and armor off. I don't know how long it took me to figure out how inns worked.

My funniest moment was when I first started playing ... I made a warrior char. My buddy told me I needed a trade skill and showed me how to buy some blacksmithing skill points. After that he told me to work for a BS and make gold. I went to the Smithy shops in Britain and asked for a job. The NPC never responded...unless I said hi, and they gave a generic hello or something to that effect. Another char, more seasoned than I noticed me doing this a couple of times (probably over a couple of days) and asked me if I was role playing. I told him I wasn't, but couldn't figure out how to make gold as a blacksmith...he of course explained the proper way to craft and then talked me into bowcraft fletching and joining his guild...four members strong after I joined. I still think it is pretty funny.
