I actually found it lying around. I have no idea of prices and wondered if it was worth much (if anything).

I'm guessing it is a Paladin ring.

It's say it's useless... but then I've been known to throw out items before which turned out to be worth millions...

It might be used by a mid-level paladin or even samurai, but not by a gm or higher. So if you're not playing a paladin it's probably not worh keeping - sorry...

All armor/jewelry/weapons in game are pretty much appraised based on their worth for pvp. Now, there are multiple exceptions to that rule, especially on weap/jewels, but that is a good rule of thumb. Your ring really doesn't have much value. As was mentioned, for a low-mid pally or sammy, it might be ok, but that's it. Jewels for warriors are best with HCI, DCI, DI, FC, FCR, LMC and stat bonuses. For mages, FC, FCR, SDI, LMC, LRC, stat bonuses are the ticket. That's approximate of course, and EVERY template needs/wants something a little different, but you get the idea.

The ring values are also very subjective.

For instance to train taming and put myself in a bracket of plelntiful easy to tame monsters I used jewelry in varying tame values from +1 to +15 to increment my taming accordingly.

To find jewelry of the correct values and still have all of the other attributes I like to have, make certain jewels valuable to me and maybe non-other.
