Why are weapons different colors?
so what does it mean if i loot an item that is blue or purple?

You can also get ones that are blaze and green.
It depends on the properties. If you loot a blue one, that means it does the most damage to the cold area. Purple means it does more damage to the energy area.

And blaze/orange = fire damage, green = poison damage
