Re: Why?

I've always experience that sort of log-in notes as the system coodinates all the character additional attributes, especially if you are using UO Assist. Just accept that you are going to see that stuff. It's actually good that you do see it, because if used properly, it will notify you when you are lacking during battle as well.

Re: Why?

You are being undressed (and disarmed?) every time you cross a server line. You'll get the same messages if you use a dress/undress macro. If you didn't have any stats on your armor/equipment, no such messages would appear.

Re: Why?

I personally have not seen the UO Code, but by the way I believe it's working - this is a pretty fundamental issue with how the server passes data across lines properly. It might be easy to remove the telling you of messages, but the way it undresses and dresses is probably needed. However, if there is code put in to stop the messages, how does it know which ones it should show you and which ones it shouldn't? All it knows now is to inform you everytime your stats are affected by your armor / jewelry.

In the end, its probably just something that's going to be around for quite some time.

Re: Why?

My guess is old server code.
As you cross server lines it gets all recalculated and should be correct.

Re: Why?

As it's been pointed out, when you log in, cross server lines, etc. you get undressed/dressed.

The reason why your stats "drop" is because the properties on your armor add "empty" stats. By empty, I mean, if you have 1 piece that has +8 HP, it only increases your max HP by 8, so say you have a natural 100 HP, when you put it on and you are at "full" HP (100), you still have 100 HP, but your max HP is now 108 (thus no longer at "full" HP).

The reason this was put in place is because if you are at 1 HP, and have a piece of equipment with +HP, you can't just take it on and off giving free HP.
