Everything that spawns in Ilsh has a 5% chance to be a paragon.

sigh* this will take forever to kill about 200 paragons to find a minor arty
where are mongbats that, once again are not surrounded by monsters that are too strong?

If you want lower end stuff, go to Ilsh-Humility, run east and you'll run into the Champ Shrine, normally the spawn is already activated and it's going to be rats/slimes. They spawn really fast and lots of paragons, but be prepared to run if you can't deal with the next tier of spawn if/when it gets bumped to the next level.

Ill say this: I spent ALOT of time farming the Shadow Wisps for bone. Killed mysef many, many, many a paragon Shadow Wisp and never gotten an arty drop.

What kind of char are you on? If its a Mage and you are anything like me, it will be tough for you take down a mid level paragon even once your skills get high enough.

Try a melee char like a Paladin or Samurai. Paragon Earth Elementals will have bored silly before long...

As stated before, Luck does increase the chances of a drop, so you could try that route too...

Yeah, I think out of all the times I've played with lower end paragons (which IS a lot of time) I've only received 2 arties, but while my limited time playing with para-demons, I've gotten quite a few. Para-balrons never seemed to give me any even though it says they have a decent drop rate.

Omera, is your character fairly new? Is his/her skills low? What sort of template are you playing?

ummm... i can get my magery to a little over 100 if i had the powerscrolls. i got jewelery that raises my skill. without it, my skill would be around 80 in magery.

Ok, so it sounds as if you need a little advice on raising magery at a high level? It pretty easy, actually.

Find a couple of Magic Wands, or some Spell-Channelling Mage Weapons with about -29 Magery on them.

Set up this macro: cast spell/magic reflection.

Equip the Magic Wand, then press and hold down the macro. You should start getting some steady gains, as -29 will take your magery back down to 51, which is good gain area for Magic Reflection. Simply spam your macro until you reach 70 with the wand equipped, and you will be a GM mage! Note: You'll need to be wearing a 100% LRC suit, of course, and if you can add some LMC or Mana Regen pieces while you're spamming Magic Reflection it would be helpful.

Toward the end the gains will slow down a lot, and it might be easier to get gains by casting Invisibility with the Magic Wand equipped. This will slow you down a bit because you can't spam Invisibility the way that you can Magic Reflection.

Finding lower-level mage scrolls that are affordable isn't difficult. 105 and even 110 are usually reasonably priced. Try to get to 110 magery at least, so that you can cast EV's reliably.
