What is a "mule"?

It's usually a term associated with a crafting type character. (One who has mostly or only crafting skills on his character)
Another word for "crafter", basically.

That's what I always thought until I saw someone mention they had both a crafter and a mule. Duh.

Kitiara's article provides the best distinction I've read, by far.

Interestingly, with two accounts and 4 mules between them, I've found myself growing an identity for each one, expanding skill sets, and gradually expanding them to a 3d personality with motivation and character.

My "mule" is my main char

To me a mule is a char you don't actively use and that has just a logistic purpose... that's what most of my hunter chars are
