Odd.

I used to roll my eyes at people who said KR played better than Legacy client.

I am now one of those people.

I received a new desktop... which I needed badly for a number of reasons. Even upgraded the video card tremendously.

I now cannot play the Legacy like I used to, in fact I 'pause' after every few feet. It's still fast, mind you, but nowhere as fast as I can play KR (I'm getting about 45-75 fps on KR, and that is with all effects on and at 1680 x 1050 resolution on a 22 inch widescreen). So... I will effectively be learning to play KR.

I will NOT be giving up on being vocal about the KR client though, everything from its basic look to its lack of lower end computer compatibility.

Does anyone else have the same thing happening I do?

Funny thing is KR was designed with the lower end systems in mind and it seems alot of the ones playing it now have upgraded their systems in order to do so

My comp is about 3 years old (old in computers i know. ) and i cant play KR i can play other games just fine with better graphics without a problem. They have to do something about that problem because i cant Waite 2 sec every tile i move to.

Strangely enough I'm managing to play quite nicely in KR on my low end, rather old pc. Yesterday my tamer managed to outrun a blackrock infected blood ele, then come back with a more suitable pet than the lesser hiryu and kill it. Today my paladin swordswoman has taken on, and beaten, several paragon daemon with no real difficulty, and my Siege crafter loves mining in it. Though black rock eles are still lethal.

Only trouble is, it's like being back on dial-up in that I need to clock watch. Back when we first started playing UK dial-up providers used to have a 2 hour cut-off and you better darn well make sure you were somewhere safe when it went, because you weren't guaranteed to be able to re-connect. Now I'm doing the same thing with KR, cos if I play too long my cursor disappears and my pc locks up, needing a reboot.

Is quite a shame to have to play a mmorpg with graphics all tuned down in order to be able to function......but to each their own ...enjoy and have fun!

Well thats just the thing. The STATED KR would be aimed at lower tier computers. It simply isn't. At _all_.

I actually upgraded my computer because it was two years old and well... honestly... I was itching to play LotR well. KR's success on my system is nice and all but its more a 'oh ok' than the driving purpose for my purchase. In all honesty I did not expect it to function as well as it did. I had to get an entire new system as well because my computer lacked the ability to upgrade the graphics card.

They need to figure out how to make this client compatible for the systems they promised KR was aimed at, really. If they CAN'T do that, there is no excuse for some of the less than quality graphics that the game has that the engine is MORE than capable of rendering awesome.

Personally, I'd like to have both.

Actually, they more or less have done it. The specs were (in my opinion) poorly researched and should have specified Athlon XP processor as most other games with matching specs do (Tomb raider for eg)
Otherwise:
spec says 1gig processor - mine is 1.4
spec says 512mb ram - I have 640mb
spec says GeForce 3 - I have GeForce 4

You have to admit, that's pretty close? Ok I have to turn everything down, but you expect that if you only just meet minimum specs and I don't think it looks much worse than everyone else's when I look at screen shots.

The ones who still can't play at all have Athlon processors before the XP and are not able to handle SSE instruction sets, which the game engine automatically codes things into under some circumstances. The worrying part is, it took the team 2 months to discover that rather pertinent fact.

House looks great Petra Fyde in fact it looks better than mine with full graphics enabled.....yes I can push the whole thing just dont like the graphics overall.
