It seems that water elementals got a lot tougher since I was last in the game and they keep killing my GM mage/fisherlady while she is fishing. Any advice on protecting her?

CHeck your resists. Post them here for us to see if you need help. Resists can be found in the status bar. The higher they are, the less damage you take.

I am willing to bet that yours are all in the 20's.

ACtually post your skills aswell or let me know what other skills you have, but I agree it could be that your resists are low because the water ellies haven't got harder to my knowledge.

Good resist armor and e-bolt them...about two e-bolts should be more than enough.

Should add that from other posts, she is a returnee from PRE-AOS. One of the hardest things to accept at first is the huge damage increases to SDI and the effect of resists.

My first time back in game post-AOS, I went naked (like I always did) to Destard to tame a new dragon. One breathe fire later, I was dead. It did 125 damage to me!!!

That's what you get for running around naked and playing with dragons!

I had my socks on, with my black blessed sandals.

Skills are find... 105.4 Eval, 107.7 Magery, 71.4 resist spells.

The armor I had was pretty bad I guess: 20's and a teen in there. But I got the best barbed leather I could find in my old bin and now I am 70, 34, 30, 34, 37. I can't figure out why I am high on the physical resist - it's taking some from the other resists. I've done ward and curse removal and that does not fix it. I've called for GM help and they just send me to their help website where it tells me to do what I have already done.


I also can't figure out how one would get much better armor than that. It does not look like I could craft better than that and I'm not a dungeon-crawler or rich enough to purchase much. Any suggestions?

Hmm, have you casted magic reflect or protection on yourself? Go to Spirit in Ilsh, and sit at the swoops and pick up armor. Try to get a 100% lrc suit with decent resists, if the spawn is busy it shouldn't take you too long. Try to get resist spells up on yourself as well...sit at west brit, luna or your house and cast mana drain and weaken on yourself...if you have some peeps you trust, go to someones house in Fel and have several of them cast on you. We can start with a char at 25 resist and have them to 110 in a couple hours with 3-5 people casting on them...don't wear any armor and you'll gain faster. Higher resisting spells will help you with the water ele's. With your eval and mage level, you should be having zero problems with water ele's.
