Hey, i've been playing Uo since 98

but I quit for couple years, and so forth.. the typical story! lol

but I was wondering, how many people still play total? like are there any statistics pages?

And also, whats a popular shard right now, most my characters were based on Catskills, but before I play again just curious where to begin and what are all the hot spots?

It depends on your playstyle for the shard I think, but thats just me

I don't think there are any stats pages for how many play what shard. If so, I'd like to see them too.

Maybe the best thing is to create a char on the shards closest to you, then go to Luna bank and scope the people out, ask around, etc.

I just moved from Atlantic to Lake Austin because there were TOO many people on Atlantic. I played there for 9 years and got sick of having to wait around to do any fighting. All of the popular hunting places were always packed.

One way to tell how heavily populated a shard is - visit all of the banks and see how many have people hanging around. To contrast - Atlantic always had people at Luna and Britain, and most hours of the day you could also find people at Moonglow and Skara Brae. On Lake Austin, however, there only seems to be one populated bank - Luna.

As for hot spots - way too many to list! Depends what you're into... fighting solo, fighting with a group, etc.
