Re: The Vanguard Attacks! (Some Spoilers)

The restless souls are a bit bizarre. Sometimes, your guarding pet will attack the restless souls. Sometimes not. But I know the only way I've seen them die is from pets (in tram, at least--in fel, sometimes you can kill them, sometimes you can't--but, it is an issue with the guard zone, I think, because, if you try to do Vorpal bunnies in Cove, you can't always kill them either, unless your pet is guarding you...sometimes that works).

Vanguard in Nujelm on CHesapeake last night.
That was bad ass with tons of spawn and lots of death!

On LS, the spawn is in several places...Nujel'M, Cove still, Papua (NOT Delucia interestingly enough), and....Someplace else. I forget.

Serp's Hold, that's it.

Biggest problem really is the god-damn underground monster spawn issue. It's really event destroying.

I didn't see any in Serpent's Hold, but on Cats, we definitely had Vanguard in Nujelm and Papua.

The underground spawn was less of an issue in Papua than Nujelm. I think I'm going to stick to hunting there.

I believe, and correct me if I am wrong, the restless souls and the pirates are able to be killed by faction members. Now in Cove, you can drag them to the docks and kill them. Not sure in the other cities if you can drag them somewhere where they are vulnerable.

You mean a "Black Order Mage of the Dragon Flame Sect"?

These commonly spawn in The Citadel, the peerless dungeon that hosts our friendly neighborhood Travesty.

They punch like little meanie EV-mage-hybrids, but their spells are like getting hit with cornflakes, since they do so little damage.

The badges they drop can be used in the 'Black Order Badges' quest.

Did you guys end up with spawn stuck in the walls/floors, too? We had (last I checked) a vanguard controller stuck in the floor that would spawn groups of monsters when you ran above it...

Not a great way to walk into a room, if you ask me.

Re: The Vanguard Attacks! (Some Spoilers)

anyone else notice the vanguard controllers are *alot* harder to kill in the new spawn cities? makes cove look like the noob dungeon

this cant just be me..., they do more damage but dont seem to have more hitpoints, maybe i was just unlucky?

Re: The Vanguard Attacks! (Some Spoilers)

I have found numerous spawns underground.

On LS serpent's hold cannot advance due to the controllers spawning underground. The number of spawn here is overwhelming.

I think controllers in other cities are about the same ... however, they have more room to run around and spread more spawn.

Re: The Vanguard Attacks! (Some Spoilers)

Aye, I paged a GM last night in Nu'jelm on Catskills, and the GM ended up having to repeatedly teleport the vanguard out of the floor in the chapel because it kept popping back down inside there.

He did assist us greatly, and I know it was his doing because he chose me as the 'relocation' point for some of the stuck monsters once he'd noticed I equipped a staff of pyros and started chaining whirlwinds. Hehe, a lot of stuff died, but not me.

Afterwards I noticed that one of the tamers who had been keeping me alive hadn't gotten a single Shield or Sword, so I tossed her the Shield I got from the stuck vanguard we'd been fighting for over an hour.

Thanks, GM Lothande, you were a huge help, and I dropped you a good line with the GM Reviews page as well.

EDIT: GM Lothande reminds me of GM Cochese
