So is the event picking up now? I'd like to get a horse, just as a collector's item. Maybe a sword and shield also for my collection I am starting. Missed the first invasion. I TOTALLY went brain dead when it happened and wasn't reading any news about UO. Bummed me out when I saw people at Luna stables with the dread steeds. My first thought was nightmare, renamed... till I lored it.

Hope that the Vanguards keep spawning a little more frequently as the real battle starts. Scouts are scouts, but as the time for the invasion starts, they'll need to scout more frequently.

on atlantic we had and have a lot of spawns,
both facets, trammel and fellucca.

when the one on trammel go off
go quickly to fell and you'll find another spawn

I can't wait to get home then! I hope some are still up on Baja if they've been spawning! One good thing about being in Japan is most people are sleeping when you get on! Can be good and bad though, depending on your play style.

Are the Vanguards humanoid or undead?

Humoind. You cannot use Animal Lore on them, like you can do on undead.

When I see one again I may doublecheck this with an undead slayer spellbook tho.

Using an undead slayer spellbook did not raise the damage made against the vanguard significantly from what I´ve seen.

what raise the damage against the vanguard is MYSTIC weapons!
i notice an increase damage when i use my super mystic bow! hehe

Anything bad I've said about the event so far, I take back now. The last couple of hours have been a lot of fun, even though some ____ had been killing the dread horses.

Still, a lot of fun. I have noticed that the greater dragons out damage pretty much everything, and two of them can take down a vanguard controller pretty easily.

And I've noticed that when you see a new controller, the rest of the spawn will follow about half a minute later, so going straight at the controller seems to be a bad idea unless you're one of the greater dragon people and you're working in teams.

That's another thing I've seen a lot in the last couple of hours on Cats. People who have never seen each other healing each other or other people's pets. It makes for a rewarding experience.

And I did get one chaos shield out of it and I've died more today than any other day in the past two weeks as my tamer (which isn't much, really. I didn't lose any gold anyway).

What I don't like is that my mage can't cast EV except on the dock. That limits his ability to work a lot.

I'll have to go back later with my mystic warhammer from hell to see if that helps.

Is the event only going on in cove? or have other cities been seeing the action also??

We had a Vanguard Controller in Vesper, yesterday.

Vesper? lol I think someone probably pulled it there from cove...

Anyone timed the respawns on there server? Also, are stuck mobs preventing respawns?

Except that if the controllers go to far away from their spawning point, they return. It really makes separating the horse from the controller difficult.

Speaking of which, has anyone tried disarming or dismounting the controllers?
