Warsong, I don't think you are being paranoid at all. We have to remember, althought painful, the truth is: gaming companies are not different of any other companies. All they want and care about is money and profit. Why invest a lot of money in a new game and risk losing money if people is still using the old game? UO will only shut down when there is no more profit. Period.

But Baldguy said one thing I didn't know and find really stupid for a company to do. Burn the code of a program. You never know if people will need the whole code or part of it.

As far as the code for UO2 being burnt. I believe it was more complex than that. I believe that it was the programers themselves that destroyed it after they were told that the project was being scrap. And I believe that the programers did not want to see their work abused like it was when EAMythic crammed the other cancelled project into the LBR expansion. I do not think that the company approved of its destruction. But it has been years ago now.

I understand that they are in business to make money. And if EAMythic would just come out and say we will maintain UO and release a new pixel crack edition just once a year thats all, plus try to track down ingame bugs.
It would be enough for me to continue playing/paying. There are many things I still have not done even in nearly 10 years of playing.

The biggest problem I have with EAMythic is they announce these grandiose plans that seldom work out. Just look at all the systems introduced over the years. Unfinished, incomplete. Then they just move on to the next "cool" thing. Like this resource change, given reason? For a future change to the system, that might or might not every see the light of day.

How long do they think they can continue to abuse the playerbase til there is none left? Right now they are still hammering out KR. Then it will be the problems and abuses they introduce with SA, you know the gargoyles are going to be unbalanced. Just look at every skill and race they have put in.
So then when is this magical crafter overhaul take place? 2010? Like it took them 3 years to start fixing pvp? Until then what? I have to mine/chop everytime I log in just to get enough granite so I can keep my shop open? Instead of playing with my friends/guild?

EAMythic keeps saying they want to give us more reasons to log in. Lately I find they have done just the opposite.
