I'm an old UO fan from years back and when I noticed KR having a 2week testing period I decided to give it a spin.

Now, the trouble is that I've tried downloading the trial setup packet multiple times and it always fails to extract. Windows xp built-in unzip utility says that zip file is unsupported or broken, tugZip just flashes some screen quickly but doesnt extract anything and WinZip wont extract it either. Is there some secret catch here I'm not seeing or do I have to abandon my hopes of getting back into UO?

I tested all those download links. Heck, I downloaded it twice from fileshack with same result.

For what I've seen, most, if not all, the UO:KR files hosted are corrupted or non valid. I experienced exactly the same problem for about 4 times from 2 of the 3 official download sites listed in the UO page (didn't care to try Xfire, tho).

I got it from there without problems.

That first link might very well solve the problems for me. I gotta try downloading those files when I get home from work.

He just happened to expose the only problem I can help with. And I really want anybody to avoid all the frustration caused for the problematic download/installation process of the trial. I know how it feels, and it's not pleasant

Unfortunately here just some of them post about the corrupted files, when there's probably dozen others that just downloaded it, failed to decompress it, and just quit it for good.

I had that problem too, but it wasn't the file that was corrupted (entirely). For some reason I had to use a different extractor than my normal one, I forget if it was a basic windows extractor or winzip, but I had to use something other than my default (winrar didn't work either).

From my part, I tried to decompress the file with WinRar (my default), 7zip and the windows zip extractor. None of those worked in any of the several different downloads of the file I did.

Didn't try Winzip, tho.

Maybe it was winzip that worked, I'd have to check again.

I DL'ed it 3 times, the first 2 times I had the same problem as did everyone, the 3rd time I tried using all different extractors on it and it worked, tried it on the first (kept the first one I DL'ed and failed to extract for some idiotic reason) and it worked on it too.
